I’ve had some lovely “fast” runs recently and have chalked up a few PB’s, but today’s run wasn’t about speed - it was about pootling about on the trails. 🐕😀🏃♀️
It was chilly first thing, so on popped the trail shoes, the long sleeved top, running jacket and gloves, and sunglasses (yay, it’s been a while! 😎). The jacket came off during my warmup walk. Off I trotted, with the aim of doing an easy 4k. 🏃♀️
After hating the first few minutes more than words can say (such a shame that happens isn’t it?), I got into my stride - up hills, down hills, flat bits, more hills. It was amazing. 😍 My pace was slow, as I’d intended, and I heard Garmin buzz at 4k. I wasn’t ready to stop yet - I went for 5k. Buzz. Nope, still not ready to stop - so 6k clocked up and I could have continued, but I was getting hungry, so I thought I’d better head home.
I walked back to the car grinning inanely. Happy me, happy dog. What a lovely run! I hope you all have the sun where you are. What a difference it makes, whether it’s warm or chilly. ☀️☀️
Next up - Southampton Common PR on Saturday! Sooo excited to meet some fantastic VRB’s! 😆🏃♀️👍🏃❤️

Super! It is so nice to go out with a little target, no pressure, and then exceed it. Beautiful sunny day in the .Peak District, but washing day for me (ran yesterday in the cold wind). Have a lovely time all of you at the big Parkrun Meet Up, and don't forget we all want a full report and the obligatory photo please!
I think you will be getting so many posts and photos that we’ll bore you all to death on Saturday Baddie. It is exciting though. Only 17 mile away for us so hats off to everyone else who is getting up at cracksparrow. 🏃♀️🏃♂️🎩🧢⛑
It’s 65 miles for me, but it’ll take me about 2 hours as there’s no proper direct route. I don’t mind. I enjoy driving (lucky really!) and the lure of a PR with VRBs will make the early start worthwhile! 👍😀
Thanks BBR, yes this time of year is made for us runners. Soon we’ll be grumbling about being too hot after having been too cold for so long - so let’s enjoy spring! 😍☀️
That sounds great. It’s such a lovely feeling when you can just keep running; particularly when those days of staring at the phone/watch for the moment you can stop are so vivid! Magic, well done x
You’re right ktsok, it does make a change from wishing the run was over! The sunshine definitely helped, as that route is elevated and can be super cold/windy. Today it was perfect. ❤️
Sounds like a lovely run Cheeky. Although the weather is chilly, the sunshine is gorgeous and every day the trees get greener and more blossom appears, which just lifts the spirits. Can’t wait to see you in Southampton - we’re going tomorrow and staying in the camper, otherwise we’d have had to be up at 4.00am! 😃😃😃

Sounds lovely, and wearing sunglasses too😎, I have just got some running sunglasses, they are nearly as bright as the sun themselves 🌞, I'm looking forward to being able to try them out, another couple of weeks of rest and anti inflammatories should see me out and about again.

Mine are new too. I treated myself to some Oakley 2.0 Half Jackets. I’ve always loved Oakleys, but my non-sporty pair are useless for running in as they slide down my nose - and it’s sooo annoying having to keep shoving them up all the time. Amazon had the Half Jackets on sale. Had to be done. Smart phones have a lot to answer for! 🙄🙄😅
Sounds absolutely joyous cheeky, that lovely sunshine tempting runners out in all their finery like, um, butterflies? 🦋 Or particularly bright 🐌🐌🐌 in my case 😁
What a wonderful run cheeky, the sunshine has been beautiful here too. I decided my weds run was the optimal running temp, about 12 degrees, yesterday was a little chillier here but still lovely.
It’s the best running weather isn’t it CH? 😀☀️❤️ It’ll soon be too hot - but I refuse to grumble about that after all the wind and rain we had earlier in the year.
