And so it begins... With socks!

Hi lovely people, quick update! Finally got an ultrasound scan on my foot which I injured in July and which still niggles. No soft tissue damage but signs of an old ankle injury, which has been aggravated but without an MRI, couldn't say more. πŸ€” So I will carry on running, with lovely new compression socks, and I will now go get a gait analysis done, and treat myself to new trainers too. So, to celebrate (?) the (lack of) news, I went out and ran 6 whole k in the very murky weather yesterday morning. Went solo as Couchpotato2 was working, and took it slowly. I only intended to run 5.5, but as I was still some way from the car at that point, I decided to keep going until I got back to my car. Spot on 6k, it was meant to be! πŸ˜€ Had to thread my way through an intrepid group of mums who had ventured out with their toddlers in anoraks and wellies, which brought back memories. I was also pleased not to be running away from zombies, because trees looming out of the mist were a bit too atmospheric at times! The socks - too discreet?

I love the socks 😻. The zombies will be able to see you in the mist with those 😹

Oh heck, I might need to work on my speed in that case! Even the zombie snails could have caught me yesterday πŸ˜‚

Thing is. GOG, those socks simply aren’t bright enough! πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

I love them! 😍😍 So much better than my dull as dishwater (and similar in colour too 😳) ones. Hope yours do the trick. 🀞

Well done on your 6k. All sounding good for you - excellent! πŸ‘Š

Funny what this running lark does to a person's dress sense! My usual colour choices are black, or denim, or denim with black. My running wardrobe, well now, that's a different matter! Although, does anyone else find they are making bolder colour choices elsewhere too? Starts with a scarf here, a cushion there, where will it end?!!😁 Go on cheekychipmunks, be brave. You can always wear these 😎 (and thanks, feeling more hopeful for that 10k now 😊

Too discreet? Not unless you get matching shoes!πŸ˜€

Fabulous

I want some!

When I as at college (in the 1970s), a friend and I used to judge the young men around by how gay their socks were. Of course now we would have to call them happy not gay, but I definitely think those would have passed the happy sock test 100%!

Happy socks, I like that! 😊 Another advantage I have discovered is that it's easy to find the matching pair 😁

On Amazon, they also have them in runner's world. Not cheap, sadly. Make is CEP, it's written on them somewhere! But they also sell compression socks in decathlon, although the colour isn't quite as cheeryπŸ•ΆοΈπŸ˜
