Running in the rain with glasses!

Had a great run today, 9K, the only problem was it was sooo wet. I don't mind running in the rain, in fact I quite like it, but running in the rain with glasses on is a nightmare! They start slipping down my nose and then I can't see through the lenses, I end up having to take them off and then I can't see due to my short sightedness!

I reckon I am going to have to buy some contact lenses for the British weather. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Cheers

V.

Nope.. cap with a big brim...perfect! Trail heads running cap... great for rain... great for sun.. Amazon sell them:)

Can't be doing with hats, I don't suit them and find them uncomfortable. 🤓

But.. they do the job and cheaper than contact lenses... and my cap is not uncomfortable.

Ok you've convinced me to have a look. But I would have needed one hell of a brim yesterday to keep the rain off my face!

I hate hats too - but swear by my lightweight running cap in the rain.🙂

Another vote for a cap here, I have a very cheapy Tesco one and a trailheads one. I hate hats too, plus can’t stand my head getting too hot, I’d never worn a cap before running, and had to hunt out a very thin/breathable material one, now it’s a definite go to if it’s raining, really helps. The trailheads ones are also supposed to be good for sun glare - the underside of the peak is black - although I’ve never used it for that.....😂.....usually too hot for a hat if the suns out....

You can get visors - like golfers have, e.g the peak without the cap - I’ve used those too in really hot sunny weather..

Can’t be doing with faffing with contact lenses just to go running....

I used to wear contact lenses, so it wouldn't be too much of a faff, as I am proficient at putting them in my eyes, but slowly coming round to the idea of trying a cap.

I wear my glasses more these days, and as I’m now in ......aahhmmmm....varifocals.....I found wearing contacts of different strengths a bit weird.......i only wear my cap if it’s heavyish rain, light rain I don’t mind, I do still get caught out in the rain sometimes in my specs though, and end up not being able to see, wiping them on my t-shirt etc., 😂....just adds to the fun....🏃‍♀️

Yeah I have reached that time of life where I need varifocals as well, its a right pain. Yesterday it was so wet I had to take the specs off, I was running through massive puddles, the entire road was submerged, still drying my trainers out now, it was good fun though!

I wear contact lenses so no problem, but I’ve heard wearing a peaked hat helps. 👀🧢

Lightweight running cap. Essential in the summer too. Can’t stand direct sunlight
