Sneaky sunny 5k ๐Ÿ˜Š and the dog didn't get me ๐Ÿ˜

So, my foot had been giving me grief since my last run, so I only intended to do 2 or 3 k just to ease everything out. But, it was a beautiful morning, foot felt absolutely fine while I was running (why is that?!) So I kept running to the 2 1/2k mark, turned around and ran back until the 5k was done. And amazingly I did it in 34 minutes. Times varied wildly along the route, but I wasn't taking any notice when I was running, I just like to check when I get home. Oh the dog? Another little dog off its lead, and it jumped up and tried to trip me, but today I stopped until its owner caught up and grabbed it. See, you CAN teach a Grumpy old girl new tricks ๐Ÿ˜

Good bit of dog management grumps...on your part I mean! All part of running in nice places I guess. ๐Ÿ˜Š

It's beginning to look that way, for sure! At least I'm getting practice in dealing with them. ๐Ÿ•

I hope the owner apologised for not having it in a lead GOG.

Yes he did, he was actually out running himself. Yet another one who thinks their little doggie doesn't need to be on a lead. At least I was ready for it this time!

What a great 5k GOG ๐Ÿ˜€ fabulous time too. And where on earth did you find some sun???? Those dogs really have taken a shine to you too.

๐Ÿ˜‚ yes, I do seem to be popular with our four legged friends! It was a beautiful morning here, if chilly. Didn't last though, it's raining now. Glad I got out there when I did.

Well done GOG! Glad that your foot's ok for running and that your DAS (dog avoidance strategy) worked ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks Jonathan, strangely the foot feels better now than it did before the run. I'm being referred to have it scanned though, so hopefully we'll find where the damage is.

Sounds like a great run ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿปโ˜€๏ธ apart from the acrobatic dog ๐Ÿถ I attract them all the time too ... they love to see how high they can get normally when they have just run through a nice muddy puddle ๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh no, not the muddy pawprints! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

Stopping and waiting for the owner to get the dog under control is definitely the best plan, on the basis that you are unlikely to out run the dog! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•

Thanks Lexi, ๐Ÿ˜Š I am really chuffed, because it's been hard work lately, and I decided to just relax with this one.

I thought I saw a big dog the other day way down the lane on its own. So I stopped for a minute. Only to see its white fluffy tail.... a deer!! Silly me. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ got to keep out for dogs.

๐ŸฆŒ wouldn't want one of those jumping up! ๐Ÿ˜‚ You never know what you're going to see when out running, it's part of the magic, I think.

Yeah ๐Ÿ˜‚. Itโ€™s great when you see all the wildlife that you miss in everyday life.

Well done GOG! Those dogs are a bit of a hazard! Iโ€™m glad you have found a tactic although I would resent having to stop! I have started putting my arm out like a lollipop lady indicating โ€˜stopโ€™ and semi-shouting NO when a dog bounds over. If the dog doesnโ€™t get the message the owners do and they call them off pretty quickly. A slight relaxing of the arm and the โ€˜stopโ€™ sign becomes a โ€˜thanksโ€™ and Iโ€™m on my way. Maybe we should start a thread of dog management tactics?! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Lollipop lady, eh! I may have to practice the technique at home in front of the mirror. If a few of us got together it could be like a spice girls reunion. We all get to be sporty spice ๐Ÿ˜
