Keswick Parkrun #24 for me today. I got to within 1 second of my PB (30:49). But I still need to find 50 seconds to get under 30 minutes. I did win the VM65-69 age category (in a field of 1 ๐Ÿ˜‰), but the icing is the age weighted at 56.54%. Not a bad morning.

This follows a good week with a PB over my mountain 7 Km, knocking 10 minutes off my best time for that (52:40). And a nice little 3Km high speed run to start Thursday.

Now battening down the hatches for Storm Freya...๐Ÿ˜ฑ We will have to see about running next week, it looks a wee bit wet'n'windy.

Hope your day is good too..

Congratulations on your run today at Keswick Parkrun, I am sure you will soon be able to run a 5K in slightly less than 30 minutes.

I noticed that there is a vetern in the 90-94 age group that consistently runs the Keswick Parkrun in around 40.40, there is hope for us all. ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿƒ

Yes, I wave to him (the 90-94 guy) every week. He isn't as tall as me, so that time is even more impressive. On the weeks he doesn't run, he is part of the volunteer crew. What a guy! Hope you are having fun Al.

I am having fun, tomorrow I intend to walk and run a little on what I now call "The ButtercupKid 5K trail", remember the photo of the boardwalk, I'll take a few more of other parts of it, it really is a beautiful place, mainly flat and very popular with runners ๐Ÿƒand walkers๐Ÿšถ alike. ๐Ÿ˜Š

It sounds like youโ€™ve had a good week theoldfellow. Thereโ€™s going to be one hell of a party when we beat that 30 minutes. My bet is on you getting there first though. I hope Iโ€™ll remember how to run after 4 weeks off. โ›ทโ„๏ธโ›ทโ„๏ธ

Or should I say I say a great party?

You'll remember, it's not like you have been sitting around. Mind you air-travel is the fastest way to ruin your wa I know.

Well done TOF. My guess is when the weather improves, those 50 seconds will wither away!

You did brilliantly theoldfellow. Wind has already started in North Wales, hatches well and truly battened down here.

Do lots of hills: thatโ€™ll get your pace up even more ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ Youโ€™ve improved massively!

I don't have any choice, unless I want to get the car out every time I run....

Excellent TOF! Youโ€™re so close to the Magic sub-30. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Ask a fellow runner to pace it with you

Find someone who runs a 29ish and get them just to ease up a little and guide and encourage you round in a sub 30

Wow thatโ€™s a great 5k speed and 10 mins off 7km too. What a brilliant week. You are so close to your goal too. Great training plan. Fingers crossed for next 5k.

Good going. I ran that course a couple of weeks ago, although midweek. Itโ€™s a tough course that seems to be uphill both ways! I was well outside of my pb

I've never run any other Parkrun, so I have nothing to compare it with. My normal training runs are tougher. It's really good to hear your comments. Thanks!
