Longest, slowest and most beautiful run yet

Morning all I haven’t posted much of late as I’ve haven’t done anything really noteworthy. I have been lurking and enjoying all the great posts you guys have been sharing. But yesterday had one of those fantastic runs, it was my longest and slowest but most enjoyable, running along the Cornish coast at a pace allowing me to take in all the beautiful scenery. It wasn’t easy at all up cliffs across beaches, steams and muddy paths but wow did it feel good. And 17k as well will go towards my HM training. Just thought I’d share this with you all. Happy running guys 😀👍

Hi 61andtrying thanks

Yes plenty of sightseeing to take the mind off the running 😀

That made me chuckle! Doesn't perhaps feel good how brilliantly your body works? But yes, your longer runs will, I'm sure, benefit from any distraction on offer.

Years ago I used to go for long walks, not runs along the cliff paths on the east of Scotland, very happy memories of the sun, North Sea and the seagulls flying around, so I know how much you enjoyed your run yesterday.

Oh my goodness Runsome, what an ideal run. ❤️👏👍🏃👊 17k is mighty close to HM isn’t it? (Spot the person who doesn’t actually know! 🙄) It’ll certainly help towards your training, especially with cliffs to negotiate etc. 💪

Nice to hear from you again! Keep enjoying this delightful weather, and happy running to you. 😀

Thanks cheeky it’s as close to HM as I’ve been but a bit of work to do yet 🤪.

I been reading your posts and you’ve been doing fantastic with your double parkrun and your 10ks 😀

Fantastic! What a beautiful place to do a run. I am slightly jealous that i don't have a route like that but equally not when i think about cliffs and hills that you would have endured :-)

Well done

RunsomeGraduate10 in reply to alisonx

hi alisonx it’s only a holiday run it will be back to pounding the pavement in the dark before work next week☹️

alisonx profile image
alisonxGraduate10 in reply to Runsome

oh yes i know the feeling - on the up side it is gradually getting lighter. I can't wait to run in daylight again :-)

What a lovely part of the world, I’m glad it delivered a fantastic run for you. 17k, wowsers, that’s a long way. Is your HM going to be on such a hilly route?

Runsome profile image
RunsomeGraduate10 in reply to ktsok

Yes ktsok the HM will be uphill for the first third but downhill towards the end 😀

ktsok profile image
ktsok in reply to Runsome

That’s a whole lot of uphill... 😳

Wow Runsome, I would have been pleased with myself for walking that route but you have done brilliantly running it.

This warmer weather is certainly bringing us all out to enjoy it. 🏃‍♂️👏☀️

Runsome profile image
RunsomeGraduate10 in reply to Dexy5

Well I can’t wait Dexy5 it seems to have been dark forever. I remember running with the temp in the high 80’s in the summer. It seem to be one extreme to the other. It will definitely be really nice running in pleasant weather and daylight. Happy running 😀

That route looks fantastic from the map Runsome. A while since I've been to Cornwall but I can imagine it was really dramatic!

Hi JonathanP it’s my first time back for 20years and was really breathtaking photos never seem to do it justice 😀

You chose a great week for a holiday in the West Country ☀️

Runsome profile image
RunsomeGraduate10 in reply to Dexy5

Yes it’s been very nice and mild with warm sunny weather forecast for the next few days ☀️ . I’m almost tempted into the sea 🥶. The scenery/sea was really dramatic last weekend in the windy storms which is a sight to see 😀

Aw that is so fabulous Runsome, I love this post as it is inspiring. Spring is coming and we live in a beautiful country. When running you notice things like birdsong, hedgerows and all the gorgeous scenery. Well done on your long run too. Amazing distance.

Runsome profile image
RunsomeGraduate10 in reply to Agelesslass

It is so nice to take it all in Ageleslass. It’s so difficult running in the dark which as has been the case for quite a while now. Hopefully spring has sprung😀

We are very fortunate, I wouldn’t live anywhere else in the world.
