As some of you might remember last year after my HM In May the right foot of my Β£14 blister socks went AWOL. It turned up yesterday. I was having a massive sort out and it had got itself lodged underneath a piece of carpet with my shoe rack on top of it.

I thought I had lost them at the event but I wasn’t sure so I kept the left one just in case. Now I don't have to buy another pair for my next HM In May.

One happy girl πŸ˜€.

Nice shoes Realfoodieclub, One of our most regular runners here on C25K graduated this morning, Buttercupkid, After she posted telling us of her Graduation run the word graduate is still not next to her Username, I understand she is out somewhere, it would be nice when she comes back to see the word Graduate next to her username. Could you as an administrator put it there?

Hi there, I have seen she has graduated and it is great news, we don’t tend to give the badge until we are asked for it for a couple of reasons,

1) it is part of the excitement to put your own reply up for the badge on the graduation page

2) some people like to wait until they hit 5km so we don’t like to interfere with their choice.

But be assured as soon as she asks for it it will be there,

No problem Shelley, BCK is heading for a record here on C25K regarding the number of congratulations she has had from all of us here on this form, not too many people who have graduated from C25K get as many as she already has had. The previous time that anyone got more than 100 replies was last June not long after I graduated, it was not me, I got nearly 70 but a man who called himself "Sallenson" he got over 100 congratulations and replies after he graduated. I think it was around 120,

I am not sure if you remember him, perhaps you hadn't started the course. I remember him always telling people to "Embrace your inner snail 🐌" I'll always remember him for saying that. 😊

No I don’t remember him, I’ve only been on here since sept/Oct I think. I use β€˜embrace your inner snail 🐌 β€˜ a lot too. But as I can only just get over 3k in 30 mins, I think I do that very well. I ran for 32 mins on Sunday and actually managed 3.32....a record for me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€£. But I’ve learnt from here that pace/distance is irrelevant (oh and luckily also from the running club I’ve joined too. The person who set it up used to go running in the dark very early in morning as he didn’t want to be seen. They practice β€˜loops backs’ so the person at the back will always be at the front for some of the run)! I’m also a gang member of the club β€˜called the back buddy gang’ πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I must admit I have half a drawer full of odd socks πŸ€”. Life’s mysteries.

Odd socks are one of life’s little irritations. I have no idea how they get separated within a house but they do seem too πŸ˜‚.

Best to have some sort of a hanging system or board in your laundry to peg all the single socks waiting for their partner to show up. πŸ˜„

Realfoodieclub profile image
RealfoodieclubGraduate10 in reply to nhs2015

I have a pile on a table next to the Laundry basket. What gets me is they should go everywhere together but some always get separated. πŸ˜€.

Excellent! I bet you are happy πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ I would have kept old sock too and then probably bought a new pair so that I always had a spare (although I would probably have lost the same one and ended up with two left ones) πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

They look very happy to be reunited RFC😁...good job you kept his friend.

I too have many lonely socks hanging around in my airing cupboard!πŸ˜‰

Expensive running socks are so precious aren't they..😊xxx

I never ever thought I would spend Β£14 on one pair of socks. I was upset when I thought I had lost one. It is surprising how everyone has spare socks πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

I lost one of my compression socks last week, first time I’d worn them....had to buy another pair!! Let’s hope I keep these 2 together after I’ve worn them in the morning!!

I have to admit I have two odd compression socks, not expensive ones though, still live it hope the others will come back πŸ˜€. Good luck keeping them together. Rfc x

It does, thank you. I realise from this post the sock monster is rife in many households. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

Ooh, gorgeous socks! Going to be a while before I need to worry about running long enough to need blister socks, but it doesn't stop me wanting those! (I am very firm with my compression socks, however. I find that if they KNOW I'm watching them, they are less likely to wander off :D)

Realfoodieclub profile image
RealfoodieclubGraduate10 in reply to grumpyoldgirl

I think I am going to adopt that policy. I’m going to have a wardens approach to those socks now ( as soon as they are in play they will be watched like hawks ) πŸ˜‚.

Great find Rfc!

I need to but some of these, are they actually called blister socks ? Can you recommend a make at all? Xxx

These were by Runderwear. You can get them on Amazon or go to their website. Be warned though the website contains lots of good stuff and I will not be held responsible for big checkout baskets πŸ˜‚.

Nice when things turn up out of the blue.

I lost my running watch a week before I had my brachytherapy, assuming that it had fallen off while running or been thrown out with the rubbish. Thirteen months later Mme da Truffe found it under the bed in the back bedroom............mystery.

Recharged it and all working fine and now reminding me how slow I have got in the last year.

Realfoodieclub profile image
RealfoodieclubGraduate10 in reply to IannodaTruffe

I found a heart rate strap 8 months after losing it, I thought I had taken it to my Dad’s at Christmas and it had fallen down the sofa as I was packing to leave. Don’t worry about your pace, I took me a couple of years to get over my radiation treatment for my thyroid, the body quietly heals in the background and it needs all the help it can get. Happy running ( regardless of pace πŸ˜€).
