I haven't been able to post much on here the last week.
Unfortunately I returned to work from my lovely holiday to some bad news, namely the company I work for is in trouble and has put it's self up for sale. If no buyer is found the worst could happen for all the employees.
So I have been busy looking at options and have a couple of interviews lined up for next week which has meantI haven't had a chance to run or read any posts.
The week was improved though by hearing I am back in the Great North Run, and determined to smash last year's poor debut effort where u think I let the occasion get to me.
The gale force winds are going to mean I won't run today but I might cheer myself by buying those speedster trainers I have been eyeing up for a while. ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Hoping to get out for a long one tomorrow as I have my first race of the year next Sunday, the Valentine's 10k in Newcastle.
If anyone is running today please be careful of the wind gusts and good luck to you.
Run happy, run safe.

Thatโs tough news about work Chris. But you have taken control which is really positive and giving yourself options is a great way forward. You never know what those interviews will bring as Life is always taking us by surprise. And definitely buy those runners.....you need to take extra care of your feet with your training plan ( plus of course it will make you smile which is main thing ). Good luck for those interviews ๐คWill be thinking of you
Thanks so much, yes if the worst comes to the worst I'm pretty sure something will work out, think I will be on the Nike website once I'm back from my dog walk!!! ๐๐
You've got a great positive attitude and it sounds like things will hopefully work out ok for you. Best of luck with your interviews and enjoy those new trainers when they arrive!
I hope work find a buyer or you find a new job you love, to move to. Then you can get back on with your running. It will be there waiting for you once things settle down.
Thatโs tough news to hear. Well done for getting interviews lined up so quickly - I bet your interviewers will be impressed in the chit chat stage of interview that you have got the Great North Run lined up! ๐
Things always work out in the end. I was made redundant last year then ended up with just 1 week off before starting a new job. I had hoped for a summer of daytime running but it wasn't to be!
New running shoes are always a great pick me up...
Good luck Chris. When similar struck my family, we ended up with the view in my profile. I hope things work out as well for you, one way or another. You clearly have a talent for getting on with stuff so I hope the interviewers realise that.
