Disappointed. 2019 goal has gone

Thought, maybe I could make 10k by August! Checked out my target run, our 10k city run in August, and it's fully booked. It's only January. ☹️ Seems you have to look a very long way ahead for these things.

Hey Runaway - there may be others that aren't advertised on the same site or ones nearby you could do? I've been looking at 10's on convenient dates and noticed that not all sites advertise everything - I think its down to who organises them. Hopefully you will be able to find something nearby or a near date that may not be full yet. Good luck :-)

Sorry that you cannot run the 10K you were hoping for, but 10K's are so popular nowadays that immediately a city 10K is completed they advertise for the next years one within 48 hours and within a week or less it's fully booked as you have found out There are plenty of other 10K runs I am sure you can run, just look up a website and see how many in your area or nearby have been advertised.

Thanks, AM. Now I know how it works. Haha- I'd not even heard of C25K when I should have applied, so it really wasn't going to happen this year!

They might have a list ! Often it happens that for whatever reason folks have to withdraw, so the organisers have a system whereby folks like you can get a place Have a closer look at the blurb 👁

There will be lots of other races 😃👍💪

Just Google 10K races near me, I'm sure there's lots more. Good luck!

Do a different one! There are loads! Who wants to race in August anyway? It’s too hot! 😂

Have you tried Googling “10k races near me”? I did, and found loads, way more than I intend to do this year. I signed up for three though. 👍

Good luck, I hope you find something. 🤞

As others have said, there will be plenty more options, so just aim for another one. I was too chicken to enter a proper 10k race until I’d already run 10k a couple of times (I like to be prepared!) but I still found a couple of races to do not long after that. 😊❤️

There must be a few more near you. Have you looked to see if there is a Race for Life 10k near you. I did my first 10k at a Race for Life and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Maybe you can still find a charity place? The more popular races allocate places to national charities, who then offer them to the general public (normally with an expectation that you’ll raise £££ for them).

It might be worth checking whether there are any charity places left with local charities. You’ll need to raise sponsorship for them and get to run in their t-shirts.
