Thought I would try a run without earphones in today as I was wearing my fleece hat & I cannot get on with the earphones in while wearing it.
I thought I would just have a nice slow pace run but got it completely wrong, went off too fast for me in the first 2K 🤦♂️
Definitely must work on my slower pace runs which I was trying to achieve.
No one else was out running this afternoon on the trail which seemed really strange so took a quick pic as I crossed the Trent.
Nice to have the place to yourself! How did you find running with no music?
I found it harder to focus past any ‘gremlins ‘ niggle thoughts especially as I had gone off a bit too quick, when they happen I usually just focus on the music track I’m listening to.
Very brave to head off without music. I often feel I should try it, but those gremlins would just have a field day.

How did u find no music? It's not as bad as I thought it would be and actually quite enjoyed it
I abandoned headphones at the end of Couch to 5k. Running gives me space to think through problems or just take in the sights and sounds and, yes smells of the countryside, birds, wild animals, crazy dogs, even crazier dog owners, horses, bikes other runners walkers etc etc. If I were running in town, I am sure I would think about some music. I guess I am just lucky to have the woods and moors within five minutes. 😉🐕🐮🦊🐭🐷🦇🦆🐿🦔🐄🐑
I’m running to audible books - nearly finished Becoming Michelle - very interesting and good use of time. I run around fields so no need for earphones.
I never wear headphones - tune into your surroundings, it's much more fun 
I do like my music or a podcast on the longer runs but I am happy to do parkrun without and chat to people as I go along .
