Well, it's been a while, hasn't it? Sorry I've not been around, but I've been working and haven't had any energy to run let alone post on here!

But, I've been slowly working my way back since mid December in fits and starts. Initially, I was working to a slow pace for a 2.5k at around 8 minutes per k, one run a week when work allowed. Since I finished on New year's Day I've been clawing my way back up to a distance, and then extra rest has meant that my knee (sprained in September) is finally healing. But after managing a 3.3k three days ago, I decided to push further with a different route, and it paid in dividends! I had a couple of fifty metre recovery walks, (I have to stretch off my calves, a 2 stone weight gain puts a LOT of pressure on certain body parts whilst running) but around the 2.5 - 3k mark, my breathing was clear and easy, and I felt like I was flying and that I could run for ever. You know that feeling, where your form is pretty perfect, no extraneous body movement and everything is effortless. The feeling didn't last long, but it was enough to make me want to chase it again after a rest day.

Makes me glad I didn't give it up as a bad job when my distances hit rock bottom. ๐Ÿ˜Š

It's twinging a bit this evening, but the only way is up. I've started eating healthier, (slow down, smaller portions, stopping when I'm full) so the weight should hopefully start going down, meaning distance goes up!

Hi Jundal! Good to hear from you again.

Runners high.... best and longest one I had was for about 30 minutes in my first one hour long jog. It started between 5 to 10 minutes in and didn't go until I thought perhaps I should be running more quickly.

Ah well. Lesson learned.

Happy running!

Thank you! Mine today was something not anticipated, but VERY welcome! It's the whole slink/stride feeling for me, (a slink run is one where I don't want to be seen, I'm just going through the motions, a stride I feel FABULOUS) on most runs over the last few months I've trudged, but this... This felt like I was immortal. Could fight anyone, do anything, like I was UNSTOPPABLE. I knew what it was, but damn I enjoyed it! Having said that,I'll be chasing the feeling for quite some time, keeping going and generally upping my distance, improving my gas tank, (fitness) and generally getting better.

And know what? I LOVE this bit where I get better. Where I can tell, where the improvement is pretty noticeable. I kinda envy c25k'ers. But then, when i enter my first HM I'll feel pretty smug. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Continuous improvement is a Toyota thing. I'm happy let it drop off and then build up to planned run where I'm determined to go for it.

After a three month lay off, I gotta get back to where I was. 8k before injury, up to nearly 4. Still a bit to go, but what's the rush? Gotta enjoy it!

Nice to have you back on here. We all need a break from running now and then, Iโ€™ve had the last month off through illness. I like you I tend to come back slowly, itโ€™s the best way as you are proving. Well done Jundal

Great to see you back Jundal! Sounds like youโ€™re making some great progress now, so keep chasing that high ๐Ÿ‘ Looking forward to reading your posts again with your humorous observations over the coming weeks! โšก๏ธ

Great to hear you're back Jundal, good luck with gradually increasing those distances. Keep it slow and you'll get back before you know it ๐Ÿ˜
