Hi there lovely friends! Been on the Injury Couch with mysterious foot pain - didn't really hurt when I was running but the top of my foot was painful when walking about, especially in flat shoes. The pain was very similar to the ache in my other foot a few years ago when I broke my 5th Metatarsal or whatever it is; not when I actually broke it (that was agonising and swollen) but the ache while it was getting better. So I decided the best thing to do was rest.

Well! How frustrating is not running?!?!? For 99% (I worked it out) of my life on this earth, "not running" hasn't been a problem. In fact, I would say that "not running" was my happy place, my comfort zone, my nirvana. WTF has C25K done to me? "Not running" for the last couple of weeks has been *so* frustrating - I could just feel myself being sucked back into the swamp of indolence. I was really terrified that I'd just flip back into the zone I'd been in for 99% of my life - I hate exercise, I can't run, I'm happy on this couch, when's Columbo on?

I am here to tell you, guys and gals, that with one bound I was free! I *haven't* been sucked into the quicksands of perpetual sofa-sitting; my foot is better (I think) and I just rocked the Parkrun yesterday. Not a personal best but not far off, still under 45 minutes (which I know sounds ridiculously slow to most of you but represents p-r-e-t-t-y d-a-m-n s-p-e-e-d-y to Supersnail here.) Take that, injury couch!

So the sun is shining in Llandudno and I am smiling the day away.

See you again soon my dearios,

Nia

Glad you're back and the " quicksands of perpetual sofa-sitting" didn't overcome you. That said, it would need all my willpower to get me out during Columbo :)

Fantastic Lil, so pleased to hear that the injury couch does not keep you hostage. As I am now entering my 2nd week on the IC and like you were am feeling very frustrated, jealous of everyone I see running, and fearful that I may get stuck here.

Your post has given me faith that I will be able to return when I am recovered. Xx

Great you are running again. 😃 - there’s nothing like the IC for bringing out that “Just let me run!!” inner Rottweiler. 😂

Welcome back Lil - will you be stretching out across that damn Bridge again, or are you going to stick to happy 5ks?

Good question. I'll get myself back up to 3x5k per week again and see how I feel x
