Fartlek Mixed Doubles

Now Dexy5 has become competitive, she's searching for speed and trying 30:20:10 intervals as part of the equation. Still in supportive mode, I'm trotting along beside her but tried out a new idea this morning - doing the 10 secs sprint at my own eyeballs out pace, then turning back to rejoin her partway through the next 30 secs jog. The Garmin track looks as if a lunatic has been let out of the asylum :-)

I had to tell her off when I discovered her recovery jog pace was too fast for me - which I assessed as meaning she wasn't putting enough into her sprints. This advice was not particularly well received :(

The weather was particularly brisk this morning, with a chilly onshore wind which was whipping up the surf. Post-run photo credit to Dexy …..

Some people just can’t take criticism 😂

I guess it shows though that finding our slow is something that comes with more experience, same as developing the fast.

Good job guys.

Well ... in all honesty you probably didn't ‘ have to’ tell her off. Maybe you could advise??????? You each have your own journey, enjoy!

Mmmm......

I think you may perchance have mistaken my attempts at a comic sketch as a documentary ?

We are enjoying the journey enormously, thanks in no small measure to this website 😃

😂😂 I can hear Dexy’s comments from here 😂😂 I’ll have to try those with Katnap one day, I get in a muddle on my own. I took him up a hill the other day, he wasn’t happy 🤭

The JogRunSprint app makes it much easier TailChaser. A voice tells you to prepare for each run and then it beeps to change. So You don't have to set it up on your watch which I was having problems with.

Thanks Dexy, found that the other day, it looks lovely and simple. Trouble was our park gets so busy I was having to concentrate on getting round people and avoiding tripping over dogs etc so I was missing queues no matter how or what I used. Think we probably need to try somewhere else for them but it’s a handy distance away.

(So many dogs round here! I nearly trod on someone’s small terrier the other day, it was right under my foot as it’s the only way I could go - the lady didn’t seem to notice me running towards her in my bright yellow top and pink shoes 😳)

Great photo by the way!

As a result of running I spend more time on the prom than I ever have and it’s an ever-changing scene that never ceases to attract my attention. I just love living by the sea. You must find the same at Hastings.

It must be so invigorating to be near those waves. Oh I wished we lived near the sea Dexy, we’re about as far as you can get from it in the UK 😩

Sounds fun if somewhat confusing UTS! The weather over the Is!e of Wight looks a bit grim....
