I’m feeling a little ho(a)rse! This little beauty was at the end of my run and he/she winnied as I crossed my target finishing line by the red gate, but then I realised I’d done 10.92km and I thought, well, I might as well do the rest, so I waved goodbye to horsey and did the last 0.08km to round it up nicely 😁 It was purely croissant power you know!! 🥐🥐🥐
It’s been a bit of a whirlwind this getting to 10K. A month ago I don’t think I’d even have considered doing it yet. But a run I where I forgot to stop running and JuJu’s wonderful plan has got me here today with my first 10...neigh....11k 🐎
My wonderful hubby Katnap helped me along, riding alongside (on his bike not the horse 😂) and distracted me much better than my usual Mark Kermode & Simon Mayo podcast (sorry you two!). I have to say that on these longer runs, podcasts seem to suit me much more than music. They help me stay slow. I don’t like running slow (although it’s all relative isn’t it?!) but I always speed up with music and I’d never have lasted at my usual ‘speed’.
As well as Strava, my legs are also telling me that I’ve done more than usual; I’ll be hitting the evil roller thing tonight. It was still easier than my C25K graduation run, so all those out there thinking it’s too far and too tough, no! Just go for it!
So, today is my birthday, and as one of my cards said ‘You’re not getting old, you were old last year!’ Never a truer word said: Last year I was fat, fed up and fifty, this year I’m finner, fitter and fifty-one. Time for cake now 🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰🦆👍😁

The tattoo is going to happen I promise, but my colleague has just had one done on his leg and is hobbling so I have to make sure I don’t need the use of my right shoulder and arm for a couple of days! January I suspect, when I’m not gardening 😁🦆

Hi Cheeky! Congratulations! I saw you in the queue on the podium steps, not many of us so far this month. I don’t know about you but I delayed it a day because yesterday’s weather was so dreadful. Can’t believe how quick you’ve gone from C25K to B10K! Well done you, extremely impressive running 👏👏👏
Thanks TC! I had planned mine for today actually. I wanted two rest days beforehand and it worked out perfectly. I’d had a pretty meh 4k run on Monday, but somehow I knew today would be ok! 👍😀

Thank you Flara, my special VRB 🤗! I did get a bit sniffy at the end, not quite as sniffy as for C25K but quite sniffy (I remembered the tissues this time, saved using the buff 😂). Legs are just starting to recover, given them a good rollering (it’s so nice when it stops!) and waiting for kittens to come home from school so we can have some 🍰🍰🍰😋 then off to pub 😁🍻

Thank you Uncle, he’s doing fab isn’t he?! But we were all originally inspired by our youngest kitten who is the cross country supremo. He lost his mojo a bit, I tried to help him out and it sort of all snowballed from there.
