Missing: one mojo - last seen just over a week ago

This week I’m struggling a bit. I felt great last week after my scheduled 9k run on Tuesday and 4k on Thursday. Then I missed parkrun on Saturday as I didn’t feel well. Still bad on Sunday so that was my first weekend without a run since starting c25k back in June.

Tuesday should have been my first ever 10k run, but I just wasn’t feeling it. I managed a slow 5k, and the same again this morning.

I’m hoping that a return to parkrun on Saturday will give me a boost. It’ll be my tenth one, and so far I’ve loved it every time. Maybe I’ll get that 10k next week.

I’ve signed up for my first 5k ‘race’ (I’m not racing anyone but myself!) in two weeks’ time so I really need to get my mojo back.

Don’t worry about getting all the runs in in a calendar week YamCat - that 10k is not going anywhere. Don’t underestimate how much effort goes into running increasing distances 3 times a week. I was injured at the end of W6 after tripping and to be honest I think I needed that rest on the IC

So do your parkrun on Saturday which you’ll really enjoy and then go for it next week. Enjoy 😊

👏👏👏

Well, you’ve not been well, and the symptoms go when our body has the upper hand, but the illness is still being fought for a few days, this is why we complete courses of antibiotics even if better, so you had a energy being used without realising it... you got out there and hit two 5k runs... that’s what you had on those days and you gave it... that’s great work. You’ll be back in form soon, that 10k will come.

Don’t worry too much about mojo when you’ve been poorly, YamCat. Let yourself rest and fully recover, then your poor body might feel more like running again. And as Dexy says, that 10k isn’t going anywhere. It will still be waiting for you when you’re fully fit again. ❤️❤️

Hope your mojo returns soon YamCat. I suspect it will once you’ve had a good parkrun! Go out and enjoy yourself - and then when you’re ready pick a day to smash your 10k! 😀

I know you’ll find that mojo, it won’t be mislaid for long. I took longer rests than just one day as my distance increased. I think it does you good. Hope you’re feeling well again soon!
