Strike while the iron’s hot:

As I got a second consecutive not too abysmal night's sleep and felt ok, I took advantage of it to get another run in while I have the energy for it. This is Bliss Mill, a Victorian tweed mill that is a feature in Chipping Norton, both historically and visually. I’ve never seen it close up before so that was the focus of my short run today.

Another lovely photo from you Flick, the reflection on the water looks particularly nice, glad you enjoyed your run 🏃

in reply to AlMorr

thanks Al, i did. Just a short one and mostly upwards, also very cold, but it was worth going to see Bliss Mill.

The Victorians built such beautiful buildings, even if they were pumping stations or mills. A lovely little jaunt Flick.

I saw an online article about it, and they've kept the old machinery intact as part of the houses and flats. It really is a stunning building.

Well done Flick. Seems like a great focus for a run. What a beautiful structure. Love the clock!

I really love having a destination to run to also. Like you say : enjoy them while we can. :)

in reply to Decker

I'm normally quite flexible when i run, but this time I really wanted to go there. It was an adventure and nobody was up and about.

Used to pass this all the time on the way to the sewage works 🤣 it’s a lovely building though, very striking! Glad you had a good run!

in reply to Equi-geek

I’m not sure the posh people living there would like to think of themselves as on the way to the sewage works 😂😂😂 Mr I Dont Snore tells me it used to be a theatre, museum and arts centre and that it was amazing

🤣🤣 yes, there’s a lot of cognitive dissonance along that road 😁💩

in reply to Equi-geek

I used to pass it long before we moved here. I often end my runs at the bottom of the hill with the mill ahead but not the sewage works lol

Wow, that’s a cool-looking building - very posh for a mill! 😃

Glad you got out today, Flick. Hope you’re on a roll, and get another decent night’s sleep tonight! 😊❤️

in reply to mountaindreamer

Thanks. If I do I shall run again xx

Beautiful! I've been to Chipping Norton but don't recall this and it isn't something you could forget.

Its an incredible building

I love that building. It's a real landmark :)

in reply to MikeJones68

Out of the way though if you want to see it up close. It’s along a private road, but I ignored that. Nobody around anyway 😊

Yes, I usually have to admire it from the road as we head through on our way to Wales.

What a lovely place to run and a great photo. I need to find some new spaces to run as I’m a bit bored of all my local routes.

in reply to Razouski

Thank you. It’s very beautiful. Mostly I don’t get bored with my running routes as everything changes with the seasons and the weather, but every so often I think, oh no not again. Once you feel that, you lose energy and motivation

So lovely to have some great close up shots of this mill. I admire it every time I pass through C Norton & have often wondered what it must be like inside. Glad you've had some reasonable sleep too....🛌💤 = 🏃‍♀️😁

in reply to Slinkymalinki

I would love to see inside. sleep has gone out the window again. Been awake since 3.40. no running for me today.
