Speedy 5k to beat the blues.

Had a bit of a dip half way through half term and started to feel a bit low. No particular thing set it off and I realised this is the first time I had felt this way since starting running. So I decided that I was going to go for a run yesterday afternoon to shake off my mood. Took the kids to the park with the aim of running around a bit while they were in the playground. Didn't expect much but started running and when I hit the first km I realised I was going quite fast. Feeling good I kept up the pace and managed a pb of 31.08. I had taken 1min 40 off my time! And I felt a million times better about the world.

Woohoo, well done! 💪👍😃. We never know how a run will pan out do we 🙂. So good when everything comes together and we have a blast

I bet you felt way more energised after that. Good for you 😃

Those are the best runs - a run just to run that turns into a PB and a lift in mood - perfect ☺️

I'd love any tips for taking the kids. :) I have 4 boys aged 4-9. Do they stay in a swing/slide area while you run in laps around them?

Wow 4 kids that's a lot to manage! I am never too far away but that was with an 12 and 5 1/2 year old so the older can keep an eye on the younger. I can't see them the whole time so I guess it depends on the kids and how comfortable you feel about doing that. I also have a 14 year old so I can get him to babysit for half hour now and again at home and they can phone me but never do. I have run in sight of the play area the whole time but it gets a bit dull as is a very short loop. It can be hard to fit in runs between work and kids and I usually miss one here and there over the hols.

Well done on running with four kids! I cheated and had a break in the middle. Respect to you for having them close together that is full on. 😀
