My last run was on Saturday, but I packed my kit to run while I am away. I got home yesterday pumped up and excited as it was still light, getting my kit out, thinking ๐ญ.......happy days๐!! And then what? Trainers โ ๐ Top ๐ โ ......dig.....dig....๐ญ, โwhereโs my leggingsโ? ๐ต.....yep!.....AWOL! ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธ
So making light of my plight (we wonโt call it stupidity! Thatโs not nice! ๐) I decide, well it looks like thereโs no running until I get home on Friday. I go for dinner and let it go!
However this morning, I was thinking ๐ญ (I know...again! ๐) I might be able to buy some later, but is it worth doing that? To cut a long story short, a couple of my VRBs had suggested running in undergarments! Yes.....you know who you are!! ๐ถ๐ And they were duly advised โNot a chance in Hโ! Besides, Iโd be escorted off the Island!! ๐คบ๐คบ๐คบ๐
I took a short trip into town at lunch time and browsing the sale rack, I find a pair of old school leggings. No price tag, but thought it would do the trick!! Guess what?........50p!! Weeeeeelll, now thatโs a gremlin busting bargain and a half!! ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐ So, I know my run is on! I have a spa and gym where Iโm staying this week ๐, so I decide to go and take a look, face โthe machineโ and see how it goes ๐ฌ.
I did W1R1 on the treadmill, but never been back since! It wasnโt one of those virtual running screen ones like today, so this was different and kind of fun. I definitely prefer to be outdoors. I really didnโt understand how to operate it either, so it was a flat 7.1 pace all of the way. There was no straight forward up and down buttons to vary the pace. That said, itโs done!! I did 3k! Not so much buzz for me today, as I had to focus quite a bit, but Iโm glad I got there and had another new adventure!! My 50p leggings made it possible and itโs in the bag!! ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐โค๏ธ

Thanks Mike! I wasnโt sure how it would go, but as it was on the doorstep, so to speak, I thought it was the ideal time to try it. I think I can cancel my gym membership now though. I much prefer the outdoors. Even if itโs cold and dark, thereโs nothing like running in the fresh air for me. ๐๐โค๏ธ

๐ค๐ง 50p leggings look like a heavily discounted, (hanging on a packed sale rack, just not selling in the sale, because itโs waiting for Fabulous to forget her running essentials, while sheโs on her travels, ยฃ12, black good quality leggings, that a lot of ladies wear everyday! ๐ญPhew ๐ค. Not me though, never thought I had the legs for them ๐ , but Iโm changing my beliefs on that one these days! ๐๐โค๏ธ

Well done! ๐ค Bargain had! I checked out the treadmills at the local leisure centre the other day, now the nights are drawing in and the weather is getting colder it might be an option. Only ever run on a treadmill once - for gait analysis ๐คฃ
Thanks Equi! ๐ That was my thought in trying it while Iโm away, but Iโm really not sure. My head torch might be my best friend this winter. I wouldnโt rule the treadmill out, but it was complicated to set up too!! ๐๐๐โค๏ธ
Yes, I can't see myself preferring a treadmill TBH. I've ordered a chest torch as I already tip my head forwards too much! I'm probably going to start cycling in the gym until I feel confident enough to hit the roads. Might also be useful for doing the first few bricks, practicing running immediately after cycling.
