Thank you! Non wobbly run today. And so many ideas for porridge...! 😝😝😝

Just wanted to thank everyone who gave me advice yesterday. My last two runs had ended in jelly legs and spinning head.

Today's run was fine. Have eaten plenty of bananas and some lovely wholemeal bread with seeds and oats for lunch. Pasta for dinner this evening. Lots of lovely carbs to stop the wobbles. And all within my daily points allowance, just needs a bit of planning.

I really will get up some courage and try porridge. Maybe just on run mornings....just don't like it... 😝😝😝😝😝 !

Interesteding post from you Ang3333333, it is important that you have a good diet😊 when runningπŸƒ, even if you don't like porridge it's good for you to eat on your πŸƒ days, bananas are also good for you. Glad you did not have jelly beans, lol sorry jelly legs on today's run.

Have you tried overnight oats? You just mix the porridge oats in a kilner jar with some almond/soya milk or a muller light and top with fresh fruit and nuts. It sort of self cooks in the fridge or at least the oats absorb the moisture overnight so it's lovely and creamy in the morning. And you can do it so many ways, ie with cinnamon, or peanut butter or with protein powder.. endless options.

Will try that. 😁

There are loads of ideas for overnight oats on the web. A particularly lush one is strawberry cheesecake overnight oats, which is so gorgeous πŸ˜‹.

I make my oats with water, a pinch of sea salt and a tspn of almond butter πŸ’ͺπŸ˜‹. White toast with peanut butter on is good run food πŸ™‚

The oats sounds yum! Peanut butter.....not so yum!😁

Soooo yummy. Not sticky or gluey like cooked porridge, completely different taste. I have mine with chopped banana and apple on top, sesame and sunflower seeds and maybe cocoa nibs or currants.

Glad carbs are working Ang! We’ll tempt you over to the porridge side one day! I’m with Pink on the overnight oats recipes. Add lots of frozen berries and mixed seeds and you’ll bearly notice the oats! (Think I left my Morrison’s recipe on the post comments somewhere...πŸ˜‚)

Add frozen blueberries to the overnight oats. Defrost & go all sweet and juicy overnight πŸ’

I grate some apple in, too. You want it quite coarse to add some texture.

I recently visited a fitness fanatic in Colorado who served up oatmeal pancakes. Better than pancakes in my mind and hopefully better than porridge in yours!! Let me know it you’d like to try it - even if it’s just at weekends.

Well done Ang!! πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½! Looks like you’ve found the right solution. I used to hate porridge with a passion from being a child, but somehow my tastes have changed and I actually like it now. πŸ€ͺIn fact you’ve made me think I wouldn’t mind making some now. If you do brave it, try the sachets. It really is much tastier than I ever imagined they would be.

Great run!! 😍😍❀️

I'm going to be brave and try. Strange how our tastes change. Didn't eat baked beans til I was in my 30s! πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺ

I guess some things you have a definite mind block with and have to grow a sturdier stomach for!! 🀣🀣🀣! You’ve found alternatives Ang, so don’t worry about it. There’s some stuff I still wouldn’t eat, no matter the benefits. πŸ˜‰β€οΈ

Our tastes deffo change. I couldn’t stand peanut butter or avocado. Love em now

I hated avocado in my twenties. Now in my fifties I love it! 😁

Same. Try this healthy chocolate pud for chocoholics: Avocado and banana whizzed up in the processor with milk, vanilla essence and cocoa powder. No sugar needed. Healthy, SO chocolatey and keeps in the fridge (but not for long if it's my fridge).
