The Journey Not the Distance

So it was a bit of a grey start this morning but I've been looking forward to getting out there all week and was determined to enjoy it whatever the weather.

Managed to find my way round the route I'd planned to do a couple of weeks ago and then got lost on. As originally thought when followed correctly it was just a tad under 11k - so my longest run so far. Still this was very much more a case of the journey being more important than the distance (and that's the journey in my head as well as underfoot) as I unwound after a busy week.

No worries allowed, shoulders relaxed, legs feeling good and feet kissing the ground in true Oldfloss style. All's right with the world again - a new trail discovered and a lazy Sunday ahead....

Happy running everyone ๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh that sounds lovely, Deb, and well done on your PB for distance! Always nice to try for that little bit further. I went out this morning and it was incredibly grey here too โ€“ but dry and still warm enough for shorts and vest, so cannot complain about that. Well done on getting back out there on a longer run! Hope the return to school has not been too hard. x

It's not been too bad So far but I have evening meeting every night next week - so think I'll be doing my first 'dark' run in ages ๐Ÿ˜•

I usually use almond butter but the jar was empty ๐Ÿ™

I donโ€™t sweeten my porridge these days. Just add a pinch of sea salt and the nut butter just adds some protein for a longer run. Not so long today, though, a 12k today Itโ€™s blustery so it might feel longer

Mmmm...I do a peanut butter version of cold overnight soaked oats, but adding it to hot porridge sounds good too...๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹

A perfect run, if you ask me. I love those long runs when you can get completely lost in your thoughts.
