Nice and cool this morning, but chose to stick to shorts, T-shirt and hydration vest for the big day! (Along with new comfy ASICS running shoes...) Was determined to at least try and stop myself slowing down as much as usual as the kms passed, so very happy with the final time. (In last week’s heat and humidity it took me nearly as long to do 9k!) Keeping my feet moving a bit faster did involve me yelling PITTER PATTER PITTER PATTER a lot to myself in my head, though! 😂😂😂
As with C25k graduation, I knew I could do it, but was caught off guard by how emotional the run made me. Blinking back tears for the last km, while thinking of so many events that had led up to this point. And thinking about you guys, and wondering where you’d all be out running today too. PITTER PATTER PITTER PATTER...KEEP GOING...KEEP GOING...ALL DONE! 😊 10k!!!! 😃😃😃
So I guess this means I’m ready to enter the Hoylake 10k mid September now, then the Alder Hey Liverpool 10k mid October... 😎🏃♀️😊❤️

The big question is 'do you want to?' If you do then there is nothing stopping you. But if you don't, then there is nothing stopping you just running what makes you happy.

Even though I am in the gym out here I think it is still 20 degrees plus in there and very humid, I certainly will be glad to get home (briefly) and get outside, never thought I would miss running outside, I guess I have been converted. Anyway, congratulations again on a superb run, you smashed it!
Oh crikey mountaindreamer, I’ve only started doing 5ks and your post has got me wanting to do 10k now!! I need more miles in my legs first, so I’ll be patient! 😀

I didn’t like to mention the fact that I went to the gym again after, so don’t plan on any extra rest days. I expect I’ll do my 4k on Wednesday, then Parkrun on Saturday still...🏃♀️
Wow mountaindreamer, do you realise that 4 months ago you were setting off with the aim of running 30 minutes over 9 weeks. Now look at you. I am so impressed with what you’ve achieved, especially when fitted with a pacemaker.

Typically, as I set off from the gym to run 10k, my husband went off and ran 12k! (Elsewhere, though, as he’s not a member of the gym, so has to go into work to get a shower until our bathroom’s been done!😂)

Question re hydration vest if I may. Is it the Aonijie one? If so, how do you find it? I’m thinking of getting one as the ones I already have aren’t quite right for me. Thanks
I love all the pockets. It’s a bit big on me, but I find it actually encourages me to quickly settle into a much more smooth/ even running style without bobbing up and down! (As soon as I do that I don’t notice it, as it doesn’t move around anymore.)
I ordered 2 collapsible bottles with straws for it, for the front 2 big pockets, but they stink and make the water taste foul. I also ordered a cheap 1l hydration bladder, but found that annoying, as you had to rotate the bite valve the right way in your mouth before it gave out water. So instead I now use 500ml water in my big 2.5l hillwalking bladder, with the top folded over a bit.

Just waiting for an appt with the Sports Therapist this afternoon to get my spine back on board with the plan, as it decided to have a temper tantrum for other reasons. So my “recovery run” may end up being rather late this week...🙄
