Morning lovely running fiends ๐Ÿ‘น

So, after a 7 day break (by choice) from running, I set out for a 5km run. Weather conditions were perfect for running - sunny with a glorious cool nip in the air. My legs felt like new, all springy and boingy. And is that the pitter patter of tiny feet you hear?! Yes, thatโ€™s me working on improving my cadence. ๐Ÿ˜

If you have been running a while, feeling a bit jaded or pushing it a bit hard for a while, I heartily recommend a short break. My run this morning was so life affirming and lovely, and I fell in love with running all over again. ๐Ÿ˜ The endorphin rush was great, too!

Happy running, lovelies.

Sounds gorgeous Sadie. Did you ever find a tennis ball?

Oh yes! And my calf muscles are almost back to normal now after the hills of Edinburgh nearly destroyed them! Home now, and reunited with beloved massage wand. ๐Ÿ˜

Who would have guessed that a massage wand could bring so much pleasure ๐Ÿ˜‰

Glad youโ€™re back to it Sadie-runs ...I love the thought of fresh boingy legs!! When I get back to Yorkshire & stop drinking all this flipping wine Iโ€™m hoping that my runs will also be boingy!! (Picture of zebedee in my head!!) Heading towards Paris tomorrow so I have been google earthing poss circuits as where I am now is a bit dodgy with the huntsmen & dogs!! Iโ€™m desperate to do my last 9k (!) and crack on with the last week!

Lovely post, lovely run...great time too...I bet the locals have missed you x

Thanks darling Bev! You should just be proud that you are running at all whilst on hols! Kudos to you! Have a beautiful time on gay Paris, and hope you do get to do your 9k. Great way to see the city! I shall now picture you boinging down the Champs Elysee! xxx

Thanks Deb! I am going to build in 7-day breaks every 4 or 5 months from now on. (During which I will swim and yoga instead). x

Couldn't agree more taking a break or doing much less is the way to go occasionally...

Sounds like you had a "great" run welcome back Sadie-runs ๐Ÿ˜€

Great description re your legs - love it! Sounds like a good ad for a running break. Welcome back. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Thanks Jelon! Legs felt like vulcanised rubber, but light! x

Lovely run dearest Sadie. And how brilliant to have boingy legs ๐Ÿ˜Š though you had me a bit taken aback by the patter of tiny feet for a moment there ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿป

Iโ€™ve had three days off myself and enjoyed yesterdayโ€™s run. Im fast realising one of my problems has been cutting out cakes and neglecting to replace the carbs with something else. I wondered why my weight was dropping off! A plate of pasta and a cupcake had me on top form again ๐Ÿ˜‚

Well, dear Flick, you do tend to run long distances/long times, so you need to fuel up my lovely! Pasta is great, as is porridge. xxx

I like ready break. And I have muesli (which is oat based) with blueberries, raspberries, bananas, flax seed, sunflower and pumpkin seeds and soya milk before my morning runs. Xxx

Welcome. ๐Ÿ˜ x

Yay! So pleased you got out for a run after your break, and that you did so well with your run. Sounds like you had an awesome time!! And cadence work? Wow! Howโ€™s that going?

Anyway, Iโ€™m really pleased to have my running buddy back xxx

Thanks Neil, love. I am finding the cadence thing quite enjoyable - not being too scientific about it, but mindfully taking shorter steps at same speed. Supposed to reduce risk of injury, I think. I am very glad to be back! xxx

Aww, so chuffed for you my lovely, what a feeling that must have been for you. It does us good to have a break though sometimes. Oh to have boingy legs like yours, mine need strengthening. Lovely photo there too Sadie ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘ xxx

Thanks darling. It was a โ€œpure joyโ€ run! I need to strengthen my pins, too - so am trying this:
