Banbury Parkrun. Not sure what happened but I felt awful after 2km. Heart rate sky rocketed according to Garmin too 😳
Bad night’s sleep = bad run: Banbury Parkrun... - Bridge to 10K
Bad night’s sleep = bad run
And you still did 5k in under 30 minutes! Maybe the speed was part of the equation since it’s warm and humid. Well done for the run. Brilliant. What time does that one start? I wonder if I could get the bus over from Chippy. Ive never done a parkrun. Whereabouts is it? Oh, I’ll look it up.
Hi Flick, this is the Banbury Parkrun. Quite a convoluted circuit but nice and flat. If you’ve never done a Parkrun then I thoroughly recommend them. It’s just a great experience with all sorts doing it. Just go at your pace. They all start at 9.00 as far as I am aware.
We don’t have a park in Chippy, so Banbury is nearest, given that Oxford would mean a second bus ride. I looked it up. My partner works in Banbury and says the park is kind of behind Castle Quai and along the canal a bit.
Sleep can be pretty important to performance and as said the heat can be quite sapping. You are fast but I assume that's a slow time for you. You must have had bad runs before? Just move on to the next one.
I’m certainly realising sleep is a runner’s friend. Well done getting out anyway. (Wish I could do a bad Parkrun in that time! 👍😊❤️)
That’s well fast!
Well done!! That’s a very fast time! I’ve only done one Parkrun in Portobello (Edinburgh) Hopefully do another one at some point as I really enjoyed it! Pity I have to work! I started work at 5am in a bakery!!! Feel like I’ve run a marathon!!! 😂
Wow Brian, if that’s your time on a bad day, what is your PB?
I know what you mean about things affecting your running though. I just love those runs where you don’t think about anything else (like a racing heart, heavy breathing, or niggly calf) but you just enjoy the run.
Careful in the heat, rapid pulse can be a sign of heat exhaustion amongst other things.
You still did it, might not been one of your best but it didn't best you! 👍😉
That’s a brilliant time Brian! The heat is quite exhausting and with bad sleep it doesn’t make for a good combination. However that time is brill! I wish I could do that time but I know for certain I will never achieve that. But I’m happy to run mine in about 40 mins, sometimes 39 😀
I reckon you must be Super Uber fit!🏃♂️🏃♂️
Anyway well done!👏👏
I know, Peggy, It’s hard to believe how far we have all come on this running journey; and long may it go on. The sense of achievement, relief and euphoria after each run is like a drug. I love having structure to my running and goals to aim for. For me, right now, it’s getting under 25 minutes for a Parkrun. That would be just awesome. Let’s see 😃 there’s just 2 left before I return to the sandpit. 😕
Yes we have come along way and like you I too prefer structure to my running. Enjoy the next two parkruns 👍🏃♂️🏃♂️
