go out in 25 degrees of heat and sun to try out these babies, my new On Cloudventure Peak trail shoes - though not across country: I will do that tomorrow or Wednesday if I wake up early enough. So just a short, sharp burst 1.52km/10.49min/7.08km pace.

I had ordered the wrong size and they had to go back, so I've only just got the replacements today. I can happily say they are incredible. Fast, and the push off is really snappy. I've yet to see if they are good over rough terrain, but I can't see that they won't be, and they have very positive reviews to that effect on the On Running website. So I am thrilled. This is my third pair of Ons and can't see myself buying anything but On running shoes from now on (if you see what I mean).

pinkaardvark you will be pleased to hear that I am DRIPPING with sweat ALL over!!! It just needs to be hotter for me than a lot of people before I do.

Oh, crikey, quick edit, just looked at the stats for the run again on my Garmin and it claims it was 31 degrees. Don't know if that's accurate.

Love those! And the leggings 😘 That orange colour would go with my running sunglasses. Not that I'm co-ordinated when I run of course 😂 No, no not me 😉

in reply to Irishprincess

How vain we are LOL. The leggings are comic book by Sturdy by Design (you don't have to be sturdy, they do all sizes). I have aurora and wild Africa (my favourite) as well. And there is some colour in all of them that matches all my other gear (though by accident rather than design)

I now have On envy! Happy running in them babies, Flick. And do take care running in the heat! 😓 xxx

in reply to Sadie-runs

On are amazing! I was fine. It was only ten minutes and i had my hat on. i was really invigorated when i got back. I run faster when it's a short run: I always jeep my pace down if I'm going any distance, which is probably why i can run for nearly two hours without stopping or walking - and I did that in the mid morning heat two weeks ago xxx

in reply to Sadie-runs

PS: rather a lot of ons in this post LOL.

Oh wow Flick!!!! I'm LOVING those shoes and leggings 🤤🤤🤤🤤

in reply to

Pretty cool, huh? Or is that hot!

in reply to

Definitely HOT! You go hot chick!! Love it 😘😍

in reply to

Yeah, i'm like really cool and really hot - though not quite so hot now I've had a shower ;)

Ooh suits you Flick, very very smart. Love the colour too. You were brave in thst heat too. I'm tempted now by these, but I don't do rough terrain, at least not yet, which are best or good for road running Flick, be interesting to see? Well don't lovely lady 👍🤗 xx

in reply to quirkybee

Thank you :) If you want On shoes, I find the Cloudflyers really good, they have a bit of support but are fine for neutral runners too. I also have the Clouds. All are very comfortable, incredibly light, and their philosophy is that they tackle different gaits by using the cloud pods on the soles of the shoes. Loads of reviews on their site from people who claim leg, knee, hip or foot pain has disappeared using these shoes. Certainly i've never had any pain or blisters with them and never had to break them in. The trail shoes they do can also be used on the road xx

A slight niggling knee pain disappeared for me after I started running inOn Cloudflyers. 👍

Your lawn looks nearly as bad a mine, even my daisies are dead! 😂 😂 those shoes and leggings look very colourful :)

in reply to orangeguy

It’s absolutely parched, and we have hardly any flowers this year. Perhaps I should just stand in the garden in my shoes and leggings to add a bit of colour 😂😂😂

orangeguy profile image
orangeguyGraduate10

Well they would certainly do that! 😂😂😂 . . . no seriously though they look really nice, but just a little bright for us chaps to wear I feel 😂😂😂

Oh, I dont know! The shoes are the same colour for blokes - and wouldn’t you fancy some nice unicorn leggings for Instance? 😂🦄🦄

orangeguy profile image
orangeguyGraduate10

Well as I'm called orangeguy I guess I should have a pair shouldn't I :) ... they certainly make my Saucony's look pretty tame 😂 . . . I think I might just pass on the unicorn leggings though 😂

in reply to orangeguy

Well, Imdid think,of your name 🧡🍊🍊🍊🍊

Looking good. How much bigger did you have to go with the shoes?

Only a half size. They are the same size as my Flyers.

Oh Flick, so cool/hot. Love your running fashion!!! After both yours and Sadie-runs sales pitch for on cloudflyer I am seriously thinking of acquiring a pair😊 I over pronate so need some stability though but you say they offer support? How do they size up, I'm a 6 in everyday shoes, are they roomy enough in the toe box? Sorry so many questions 😊😊

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to Lorijay

Hi LJ. The Cloudflyers offer the most stability out of their range, but I have no idea if they are okay for over-pronators, sorry. Best thing you can do is go into a shop and try them on a treadmill and have someone analyse your gait with them on. They actually corrected a mild over pronation I have in one foot, so might be okay for you! I take a size and a half bigger than my normal day shoe, and yes I find the toe box nice and roomy (especially compared to my old ASICS!) xxx

Lorijay profile image
LorijayGraduate10 in reply to Sadie-runs

Thanks Sadie, good suggestions. Glad to here they have a decent toe box can't manage narrow. Watch this space for hopefully pic of new shoes in the near future. :) :)

in reply to Lorijay

On claim their shoes correct gait problems with the way the cloud pods on the soles work. They don’t try to support or correct as such but let your foot work in a way that is natural and pain free. I advise going to their website and reading about the shoe then reading the reviews: there are people on there with pronation issues and other problems who swear by the shoes. Also email on for advice. They were very helpful over sizing. I take 7 or 7.5 in ordinary shoes (depending on make) and 8.5 in On shoes 😊

Thanks Flick. I will take your advice and follow up with On. Have a great day :) :)

Very colourful, and well done for running in the heat. I did an afternoon run a couple of weeks ago in 31c and it was a killer.

I have ordered some new running tops, and believe it or not I have not ordered them in black (all my gear is black), but in luminous yellow!!

in reply to MikeJones68

Good for you, bring a bit of colour into it.

I was ok in the heat, invigorated while i was running, but the moment I stopped and took my hat off I felt it!

MikeJones68 profile image
MikeJones68Graduate10 in reply to

I am OK as long as I can get some shade. I struggle with the sun beating down on me, which is one of the reasons for ordering non-black tops!!

in reply to MikeJones68

I'm fine in full sun as long as I'm wearing a hat. The moment i take it off, I begin to feel woozy.

MikeJones68 profile image
MikeJones68Graduate10 in reply to

I don't like wearing hats as they make my head sweat (even more than normal)

in reply to MikeJones68

mine only does very slightly under the forehead band bit, but i think i would be sweating there anyway under my fringe. The hat is fully ventilated and thin material with a peak, but it seems to work to keep me from heat stroke.
