I've always run a bit, just qualified for my 50 run Parkrun t-shirt and generally hope to do 5k in 25 mins or thereabouts, but it's a long time since I went further (as in, since I did the Great South Run in 1997). But my missus (guess who, she's on here) has just done Couch to 5k and running with her means I'm out 3 times a week now - she says I don't have to come but I reckon she'll not push herself if I don't :-) So perhaps it's time to start going further again - this way does madness lie?

Accrington Stanley? Very brave if so!

But then we have season tickets for Burton Albion😀👍🏼

Is that Fishypieface by chance?

Either way welcome to the forum! Ps who ever it is, she will do good alone or with company.....never underestimate the power of pink lipstick!

Good to have you amongst us 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻

Even so, never under estimate the power of pink lipstick.

I confess he belongs to me Millsie. Having been so impressed by my progress from the couch, I told him all about the B210k . I am still happy sitting on the bridge throwing pooh sticks with others and watching everyone else increase there distance. But I am very aware that upthestanley is running much slower than he usually does to run with me and that he should have his own challenge. Until the hockey season starts anyway. Perhaps someone can send him a link about where to start. It’s probably a bit late for ju_ju_’s current plan.

Not sure who your wife is but when she says ‘you don’t have to come running’ does she really mean ‘please don’t come running’. I know I am really glad my very sporty very competitive husband has no interest in running. Running is my thing, my me time. When I go further or faster it is because I want to do it.

Given that she dragged me off to buy more running kit (for me) two days ago, I think I'm on safe ground - but I do understand what you're saying.

Thanks for your support O505k. Upthestanley is probably right that in the early days of c25k he really kept me going (I hadn’t discovered this supportive forum until W7). He ran my first Parkrun with me post graduation but since then I have been on my own and he’s been well ahead with a high five at the passing point. I think I have rekindled his interest because he was just running in the gym to keep fit for hockey or doing a dash out of the door on a measured circuit. Bridge to 10k means I can be in the coffee shop while he is still running 🏃‍♀️☕️🏃‍♂️
