Phew!

After a restless night, I really wasn’t feeling up to my run this morning but I had to make the effort if I’m to progress with my HM training.

After my pre run exercises, a lick and a promise, a Tribe energy bar and a glass of water, I set off still feeling lethargic.

All OK until it felt like the wheels had fallen off after 5/6k. I really had to dig in! So, to resist the temptation to abort the run early, I detoured up a country lane which is a 2.5ml there and back 😎

With very little shade for the entire run, I was feeling it, and though I was glad to finish, I still felt elated I’d managed nearly 6.5mls considering I was very tempted to turn over and go back to sleep this morning 😴

Happing Running all 😎🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️

Well done - it was very humid. Got to 5miles but had needed a couple of walk breaks which I wouldn't normally for that distance.

Same here, I struggle to maintain the pace in this heat. The demons seem to get their way 😖😊

Fantastic!! It is tough atm and tempting to give in after a few k. What a great time too! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I can imagine. Stretched to 9k yesterday and looking to try for 10 at the weekend...another early morning I think! 🤦🏻‍♀️😊

Nice run, Ted. Well done for getting up! We have our lunch run club in an hour, and I'm not looking forward to it!

Thanks Mike, you’ll be OK, you’ll still return a fantastic time....as you do 🏃🏃😎

I think you did well to go so far in this weather. My 11k run the other day had me feeling faint once i stopped (I didn't mean to go so far but got lost in the fields). Makes you wonder how the original marathon runner managed in the Greek weather - though it's drier heat there. i think it's the humidity here that does the damage, especially for you as you're near the river.

Too right misswobble 😊 as I said, the wheels fell off after 5/6k 😖 They all count in this ‘Jeffing’ weather 🤪

I always resort to a walk if needs be. It gets me to the finish 💪😃👍✅

Indeed, I won’t stop completely when my legs feel heavy in this weather. I Jeff it til the end if necessary 😎 🏃🚶‍♂️

Good one. 👏 Yes its a tough one in this weather. I did 10k last night after work and if there hadn't been a bit of a breeze I know I would have cut it short.

Still feels fab once done and "banked" though. 👍😁

Good on you Ted for getting up and out. Brilliant run, I'd feel very elated if it was me (maybe in time to come) so well done. :) :)

That's the spirit - damn the weather, full steam ahead! I got ready for my 16K on Sunday, sun shining in a friendly way, and all the preps that I put in place fell by the wayside, because I felt absolutely fine, all went dandy, needed nothing in the end (apart from 'nipples' incident, didn't see that one coming).

However, this morning's 5K which normally is just a breeze, was a bit of a heavy-left-leg affair, god knows why. I say, for as long we run those set distances, our missions are completed. Well done mate!

Excellent run, you did well to push on through when that feeling you want to stop descended. Hope you’ve had a chance to rehydrate and cool off.

Really impressive Ted, especially given your lethargy! Running teaches us resilience and persistence, eh? But do listen to your body, and maybe take an extra day’s rest now and again.

Good work! 👏👏👏

Thanks Sadie. You’re right, persistence is key. The way I was feeling at 5k, a few months ago I’d have knocked it on the head....I did when I aborted a 9k run doing B210K.

I must confess though, I’m doing a very sedate run with the club tomorrow evening.... call it a recovery run, it is the best part of 2 days rest 🤗

Sorry I’m not practising what I preach Hidden 🤥😉
