Good running after a bad week

Really haven't done much running this week. Managed an after work round the block run on Monday and then missed runs on Wednesday and Friday due to the ridiculously hectic thing that the summer term in schools is.

Was therefore determined to get out early this morning and get some distance under my feet before it got too hot. Had an idea of a route in my head- wasn't sure of the distance but thought it seemed doable.

As it was it was a shade under 10k - and I might normally have carried on to the full 10k - but as I'd already had to make a stop for what my forest school children call 'a tree wee' and had managed to get sun cream in my left eye (These two things, I feel the need to point out were completely unrelated!) I was happy to let the 0.4k go.

Still despite the streaming eye (Why does sun cream hurt so much!!) it was great to be out there.

Next week will also be interesting as I am away with 30 11 year olds in Wales next week - I'm packing running kit but will have to see how it goes!

Happy running everyone 😊

That looks like a gorgeous place to run, Deb! Well done on getting out there. Frustrating when life gets in the way of running, eh?! And good luck for next week eeeeep! x

Hugely frustrating - especially when running is the antidote to all the other nonsense!

See you are approaching your 10k target! The difference between 8k and 10k is really small if your head's in the right place.

Can't wait to hear about your first 10k 😊

Hi DebJogsOn, Good to hear even a very hectic week couldn't stop you running! I read some of your older posts this morning. So good to read of your progress. Thank you for posting. I do hope your Wales week goes well.

Thanks.

I've really enjoyed my running journey! My C25K start anniversary will be in August and I can't believe how far I've come since then. Until C25K I'd not run since school and now I can't imagine not doing it.

I'm sure Wales will be fun - just hope we teachers are allowed some sleep 😊.

Wow 30 X 11 year olds! Time for a marathon! Good luck!

It IS a marathon (especially if they don't sleep!) but would always rather go with them than stay in school.

May also give me a chance to rest up my leg a bit - my calf/knee is feeling a bit tight today πŸ™„
