So, so happy! Just did the 2.5k for week 1 of ju-ju- s 10 is the magic number plan this morning - OUTSIDE! off the dreaded treadmill for the first time in two months. The time just flew by, the distance just flew by, I enjoyed every single second. And it turns out I was flying too (relatively speaking at least)! Overall pace 5mins 59secs per km. NEVER, ever, ever have I run below the 6 minute mark (nor anywhere close come to that). So the treadmill and the increased distances (I've run 10k twice and am repeating the plan as I love the structure) really do seem to have been worthwhile. Sub 30 minute 5k? maybe. just maybe. one day. But first to see how my hip holds up after an outdoors run - so far it feels promising. Oh happy days. Happy running everyone :D

Well done :) Far too nice outside for the treadmill!

I know! I know! 10k on the treadmill is dire, but I shouldn't knock it too much - without it I would still be waiting to get to 10k, and would definitely be running more slowly! It has served a purpose while my hip has been healing, but I just can't wait to be outside all the time again :)

hip niggling a little while I've been working, but I think it will be fine. Will wait til next week's short run before venturing outside again to make sure it has time to settle, but the treadmill will seem even more boring after today's delight :(

Wonderful! What a great run, Linda. And how lovely to be in the great outdoors, too. :-) What a speed, too! :-) x

I know it's no speed at all compared to many people, but for me it's a definite step up. Previously I've managed a 32 minute 5k (on the flat) but nothing faster than that, so I'm really happy. Two bonuses in one day :)

Look at you Mrs Speedy! I only manage pace like that in the last few hundred meters of a race/Parkrun!

Haha. It's a first for me. Maybe map my run was playing up - it didn't feel fast - but I'm claiming it anyway 😀
