An ok run and an offer I can't refuse

I've been quiet again haven't I???? Not much has been going on - my new gym which I joined to become a stronger runner is amazing and I must confess I'm enjoying it as much - if not more - than running. It turns out that my favourite trainer is a top class runner - runs for England! He's pretty inspirational! Last night was my longest run yet - 9k - and I have my first 10k on Sunday. I'll definitely be doing a bit of walking but as my trainer has drummed in to me, walking is not failing!

Anyway, tonight the most amazing thing happened. My gym is starting up a running club and I went along tonight. We did some drills and I paired up with a complete beginner who didn't know anyone. She did really well and I offered to run with her if she wanted to do C25K. I got home and received a message from the owner of the gym saying they would like to train me up as a run leader with Run England so I can take some of the sessions. The position will be voluntary but they will pay for my training. What a huge and incredible honour. Who would have thought that this time last year, being only a few weeks into my C25K journey I'd be asked to train up as a coach?????

What a fantastic thing to do!! You obviously have the potential :) It's amazing where C25K can take us. I also joined the gym recently as I've been on the IC for weeks and I never would have thought I'd enjoy it as much as I do. Having only ever been before, fleetingly, in the previous century :)

Go you, keep us posted with how you get on, sounds like it'll be really interesting and rewarding.

Enjoy your run leader training 😃👍🏃‍♀️

I don't know you, but was hugely impressed and inspired by your post. I've also been encouraging friends and family to join the C25K as I really believe in it. Can't believe where it's taken you. Well Done!
