Monday was a terrible day. My stupid idea to do 5x 2k laps for a 10k. The sun came out. It was boring. It was awful. Plus on Saturday I’d had to stop for a few seconds in the ParkRun as tried to keep up with a pacer. Despite a PB, that stop was niggling me on Monday.

Tonight I went out to my new running club thinking I’d get a short run, maybe intervals or hills, in. It was my 2nd visit. As I walked in I heard “intermediates are doing 5 or 6 miles”. WHAT?! I considered dropping down to the beginners group, but then decided I’d try. 2 10ks in 2 days? Hmmm.

But it was fab! A few stops to regroup and then we continued. Had a nice chat (never managed to chat before whilst running) with a few people along the way. Got loads of encouragement. A few hills and sprints included. When I looked at MapMyFitness, my actual running time was less than my previous 10ks, so those breaks actually enabled me to keep a better pace. Feeling back on it 💪🏽

Now for a week by the pool 🌞 (taking my Sauconys though and hope to do a couple of short runs in the gym 🤔)

Fantastic Tash, 2 x 10ks in a week, well jell as the kids say. Your doing great and encouaging me to keep pushing, im going to step up on Ju Ju’s plan a bit more and move up another week after todays run. Should be ready for 10k in about 5 weeks i think. Plenty of swimming in the pool for you this week then, keep them legs active 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♂️🏊‍♂️🏊‍♂️

Just going to step up long run 1k each week I'm trying not to stress my body out, I'm dieting too, low carb so energy is in short supply at times, may introduce a few more carbs towards end for extra help.

Yeah me too that's why I've got to stop having em and do loads of running, penance for a great early life, now it's time to get fit for the second half and this new found love is going to get me there.
