Well I am surprised its taken this long to get my first niggle. Ate the end of my 10k fun run on Saturday I felt a pain in my hamstring. Rested up as much as I could (although on my feet most the day at work). Thought I would give running a go on Wed evening but after 2k I just wasnt feeling it so called it. Also it was still too hot so thought I would run on Thurs morning as not at work (Ed Sheehan tonight in Manchester Woohoo)

Well went for the run and at 1.3k turning a corner I fet a sharp pain in hamstring, same place as before. This time stopped straight away and headed home. Now going to listen to my body and rest up. Hope its a little rest as I love this running lark

I know that feeling Bertie, I was laid up for 5 weeks with a grade 2 hamstring tear. I decided to go to a Sports Physio who sorted me out. Can't recommend them highly enough!

I hope you're up and running soon, I know how frustrating it can be on the IC

Good luck with your recovery. Have you increased your running more recently or perhaps didn't warm up to your usual standard?

I had 8 weeks out (with lots of chiropractic treatment) after hurting my back but wasn't sure if it was caused by doing more runs than usual or loading some stuff into the car boot...

All the best.

Poor preparation. Too eager to get out and run. Not enough fluids and not enough warm up. Th previous week I had done a too much in distance for my 3 runs 11K, 13K, 10K. I was planning on going back to a long run and 2 x 5K.

Put some ice on it. Rest up from running 😔

Look after it and you’ll be back soon 👍

Take care bertiesugar. You have come very quickly from no running to running quite a lot. I wonder if perhaps you should ease up a little to get some steady miles on your legs. I hear your enthusiasm, but this may just be a little warning to take it easy. Hope you feel better soon :)

I do agree I am too eager and should ease up, got to listen to the body
