Hello all. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their running!

The days are now definitely longer, brighter, sunnier! So why not set some new goals to keep you moving and covering the miles?

This is Week 2 of our Move and Make Miles in May Quest. The Quest will run through to the end of the month, with weekly Monday update posts throughout. Happy running everyone!

What the Quest is;

The Quest takes one calendar month . You can join any point within that time.

The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.

I ask that you will be a Graduate to join the Quest. The main reason I ask this is that while you are completing the programme, your plan is very structured so I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.

Most popular goals are:-

To run three times a week

To slowly increase distance

To train for a specific race

To add In Stretch and Strength exercises

As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice. Each week, I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going.

So if you want to join, all you have to do is put;

I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in and then, I would like to. ..............

Your name will then be added to the top post and every week your name will be in the quest until the end.

At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate that you can download to keep.

Wishing you a happy healthy month x

A bit wibbly-wobbly if I'm honest - missed a day or two of this and that. Good with the swimming. Also high bluebell quotient which is not to be sniffed at... or rather, definitely is.

Well done GoogleMe!

I managed 3 runs last week for the first time in a very long time - 2 roughly 5k and a 4 mile run. Felt great! This week will be struggling to get 2 in but if I run tomorrow during my son's soccer, I'll succeed. It is such a stressful week at work this week with some big surgeries booked so mentally I'll need an outlet likely. Will just need to motivate myself to get out the door after being swamped and exhausted with work.

A good week done Sask! Yes, you need to run for yourself, those soccer sessions are going to be so useful.

Not quite sure where to count from, so I will begin on 1st May 1.52k, 3rd May 1.40k, 5th May 8.01k (that was going to be over 10k but my knee had other ideas), 7th May 7.20k. I am still aiming to top 10k again, so we shall see. Tomorrow will be a shorter run as my ex husband is over from Australia and coming to see me (nice bloke, love him dearly, but if I had to live with him now we would probably kill each other!)

Hi, I thought I signed up to this but my name does not appear here :( . Not sure if that is to do with my settings. I have signed up to a 10k Road race in June. However, it is an evening run and I have only run in the mornings! I tried out the route last Sunday and today I am going to do my 5k run this evening rather than this morning so wish me luck :-)

Only one run last week - I had hoped for more but working away is a bit tricky sometimes what with time zone changes and the actual work side of things. I walked a fair amount though and on both travel days I was well over the 10,000 steps in the airports :D

This week I will start short runs and get back to the gym for the first time in 7 weeks :O

I would like to join the quest...I am following Ju Jus 10 is the magic number. Unfortunately the magic is eluding me and the longer distances are proving tricky but I am determined so this month I do want to get to that Magic 10k. Slow and steady....

I’d like to join the quest and aim to run three times a week and gradually increase the length of the runs as I’m nowhere near 5km!

Work has finally got the better of me and meant I've not managed alternate daus this week. However have still managed to get out there and do 2x 8k and a 4k so overall I'm happy. Am really enjoying rediscovering some trails I've had to avoid in the horrid winter and wet spring we had. Am loving running in early morning or evening in the lovely weather we've been having 😊

Hi Deb, life has a habit of spoiling our best made plans doesnt it! Sounds like your running is going really well despite that πŸ‘πŸΌ

My plans were scuppered today by the sunshine and a traffic jam!

I have done both the 4k and 5k runs of Ju ju's Wk4 of up to 10k again. Today, I had planned to do my 8k run along the Thames Path by the river between Hampton Court and Kingston.

Waited until I couldn't wait any longer, it was still very warm, but I thought, by the time we get there it might be lovely and shady...

Jumped in the car at 4.30 for the thirty minute drive, got onto the A3 and...... soon hit the back of a car park! all three lanes were at a standstill... I was very disappointed, but we left the A3 and headed for an alternative flat route, through the rush hour traffic. Eventually got to Broadwater Lake in Godalming, a pretty lake with swans and lots of fishermen balancing on fold up stools under little tents...

I haven't run around here before, but have fished here as a teenager with an old flame. We have also been here with my daughter when she was little, to feed the ducks.

It seems the lake is almost 1k per lap, 8 did seem ambitious, not much shade and still very warm... I did 4 laps, so 4k and that was enough. :)

So 8k still outstanding will be this Thursday... usual there and back route...

The Thames Path will have to be run on another day.... :) xx
