I'm back and Daisy Fresh🌼...

I am just back from my first run for three weeks! I have had bad conjunctivitis, and a sore throat and nose with nasal drip, and at last am taking something that is helping me feel normal and like I can breath..

Still in glasses ( no contact lenses yet) I set off with my new (ebay) garmin on my wrist and phone playing my running soundtrack safely in my belt.

Oh, it felt so nice to break into a run, I felt great, so bouncy (don't bounce, says Laura 😉) and fresh. I had no expectations, but just wanted to try and get a decent run under my belt after so long with no runnning. Just nice and steady, it was brilliant, no toxic ten and I felt quite strong. Glancing at the garmin (sorry Ted😉) I see that at almost half way I have done 1.9k. Ok I think so maybe about a 3k run, the next run on my schedule was a 3.5k on Ju ju's plan Week 3 R1, but nevermind..

As I ran back, careful not to get splashed by cars as there were big puddles at the road edge, I still felt quite good and even reigned myself in a bit. Past the bus stop and up to the normal finishing post I check the garmin again 2.9k it says..so I decide to double back for an extra bit to the bus stop again, and maybe squeak 3k. As I get there, I am just starting to feel like maybe that's enough..

Stop the Garmin...lift up my glasses to peer at the screen. What's this...I have been looking at the time not the distance display. It says I have run 3.7k in 31 minutes..Now I realise that is slow...BUT...it means I ran 3.7k😄😄😄 I get to tick a run off after all!

So, so pleased to have run today, I loved it, and back on track...

Happy running everyone..😊x

Good luck Chris if you manage to get out.x

I didn't know you've been on the IC Jan ☹️ Poor you 🤒

Ooh I bet that first run back felt glorious! I think it matters not what distance the first run is as long as the running legs are back in action, that's all that matters.

Happy running to you x

Lovely post Jan and I obviously know how you’re feeling right now 🤗 You’ll get used to the Garmin. I don’t have the time showing on mine I have Ave Pace, Distance and speed.

Take it easy on your journey back.....I’m one to talk 🙄🤓

Take Care x

Good to see you back Jan, think I have something similar after the heavy cold went weeks ago, sinusitis with post nasal drip giving me sore throat hanging about I think has affected my running motivation and performance when I have managed to run, seeing my doctor on Monday maybe he'll give me antibiotics etc to clear it up..

Ah, so lovely to get out after a stint on the injury couch and good to hear how well it went. Garmin are fab - I have a basic Forerunner 10 model but it does all that I need and I love it. good luck with your Bridge to 10k too!🙂

Thank you Sandra😊

I have a virtual run on May 4th and was hoping to do a 10k for it..its only a fun run, looks like maybe an 8k will be possible though...

My garmin forerunner has had two previous owners...its only a 205, so quite chunky, but was a bargain on ebay.😊x

I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling so crappy but ecstatic to hear you seem to be on the mend finally and got a run in. Yay!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who mixes up the numbers on their Garmin. Usually I'm not so lucky to have gone further than planned. It is usually on a run where I'm struggling and I think, yes, I'm almost done to see I read the wrong number 😥. That's what I get for watch watching on those tough runs 😆
