Running hiatus 😣

So having got over my knee niggle I was looking forward to some lovely half term runs (last week). Alternatively ended up I A&E at the beginning of the week with rapid and irregular heart beat and screamingly high blood pressure. Was eventually sent home when it was decided I wasn't having a stroke or heart attack! At the doctors the next day (with heart feeling back to normal) I asked if I could go running- she said yes so long as I stopped if I felt unwell.

Went out with 'Laura' and the security of the stepping stone podcast and managed three good 5k runs last week with no untoward effects - they were the highlight of a rubbish half term.

This week all tests (and there were many!) look to be normal so I am expecting a lecture from my doctor about stress when I go back on Monday. However more aggravating for me was return of knee pain as soon as I put heeled work shoes on on Monday. Knee has niggled again all week but is much improved from avoiding heels.

Have promised myself a trip to running shop tomorrow to check out advice around my running shoes (though knees don't hurt when I run!) and hope knees might behave enough to get in a run over the weekend.

Frustrated runner wishing you all happy healthy running this weekend!

Sounds like a real up and down week. Glad to hear all the tests came out ok and you were not having any major problems. Sounds to me like you need to wear trainers for work πŸ˜‰ maybe you could get some on prescription!!

May well have to break in my new running shoes at work don't you think? 😊.

Sounds as if you need some flat shoes for work. Glad the tests were all negative although it makes you wonder where these things come from. Look after yourself!

And you got some good runs in, so not all bad😎

Very pleased that your tests are ok. Sounds like you need a trip to another shoe shop for flat work shoes! I always wear flat shoes for work- couldn't do anything else! Take care xx
