Hello all.

The days are beginning to draw out a touch and spring is not too far around the corner, so why not set some new goals to move you towards that bright new season?

This is Week 3 of our Fleet of Foot through February Quest. The Quest will run through to the end of the month, with weekly Monday update posts so we can each update on how our individual Quest is going if we wish to.

So Questers, how about letting us know how it is going for you so far? Happy frost free fleet of foot running everyone!

What the Quest is;

The Quest takes one calendar month . You can join at any time during February.

The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.

I ask that you will be a Graduate to join the Quest. The main reason I ask this is that while you are completing the programme, your plan is very structured so I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.

Most popular goals are:-

To run three times a week

To slowly increase distance

To train for a specific race

To add In Stretch and Strength exercises

As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice. Each week, I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going.

So if you want to join, all you have to do is put;

I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in and then, I would like to. ..............

Your name will then be added to the top post and every week your name will be in the quest until the end.

At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate that you can download to keep.

Wishing you a happy healthy week

Well my challenge was to run 10k which I managed to tick off last tuesday, so my new quest is to simply keep running 3 times a week and make sure I don't fall off a cliff momentum wise.

You will do that Pink......the three runs not the cliff thing 😳

That badge is looking rather good runner!

Well Im feeling a bit glum..... ive been laid low all week with a flu like virus, so not run since last Wednesday. Hopefully I shall get to run on Wednesday.....,

I have managed to keep up my day physio exercises so, could be worse I suppose😏

Well in some ways I didn't do so badly in a very busy week for me in that I had *a* run and *a* swim and seem to have fallen into a daily dog walk as my Lent task.

But the food recording fell apart even before I hit the challenges of Shrove Tuesday followed by Valentine's Day followed by leftovers from Valentine's Day followed by a meal out - it has been a glorious week. Probably not coincidence that the weight is going up (one of the problems is how very little I can eat and not be over if I have a day mostly in bed - and if I have things on, that's how it has to be). Might give Rignold 's tip of the Evolve app a go. I had 9 successive days so I can still fulfil my Quest challenge of 16 days.

I am not feeling all that optimistic about achieving my 8km run as it is half term week but the start of ground nesting bird season next week (and thus an end to G's offlead moorland gallumphing until August) might motivate me. What I really do feel I should be able to achieve is the cycle path from Rowsley back home... which I think comes in under 8k... but I'd feel satisfied if I completed that.

Every run counts Google, and you managed a swim too so all positive there.

Yes you still can manage the 16 days, worth having a go to build on what you have already achieved! Good luck with that cycle path, sounds a good solution.......soon as you see sun.....go,go,goπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

It is coming along..... slow and steady but getting there... resisting the temptation to jump ahead on this re-run of C25K.....( seems so much more relaxed and comfortable) and just taking it gently.

Managing the three runs a week, ran 7K on my cross-trainer on Saturday... 7K in 23 minutes.. and Week 3 Run 1 done yesterday, 3K in 26 minutes.... ha ha!!!.. plus a 1K run back home as it was so cold... too cold to briskly walk back!

Several miles completed with small runner in training too, on Tuesday and Wednesday :)

I am also doing some great squats which our lovely Rignold gave me a link too, which are specifically for anyone who has got or had the Sciatic issue I am recovering from... they have made a massive difference to me...:)

Feeling far less 'Grunply' now... more Grunderful :)

Sounds like it is all coming along very nicely Oldfloss!

Enjoy those squats!

I realise I am a bit late to this- sorry! My aim is to start back on intervals finally ( I have not been allowed to do them for over 6 months due to a long term problem with my hip) but given the OK from my Osteopath I am going to start back on them hopefully tomorrow and get my 5k time back to where it was...which I will be tracking. :)

I shall add you in Ju, good luck!

I'm pleased that I have finished Wk5 of Ju ju's up to 10k again... and now have one more week left...

I have had some tightness in my calfs and been feeling it on my last few runs. I have not had this problem before, so asked Oldfloss for some advice and am now the proud owner of a brilliant Massage Therapy stick..just arrived this morning. I think it is going to do the trick!😊 Thank you Floss.x

So 9K run on Sunday, I will spread out the last 3 runs and start using this new gadget daily and hopefully make that 10k again.

Happy running everyone😊x

My aim was to run 10k and I am really pleased not only to have achieved that but also to be up to 12k. I'm aiming at 13k or 14k on Sunday and also want to enter a 10k race for the spring and probably a HM for later in the year 😁

Well. Haven't run this week, haven't done anything exercise-wise this week because it was a week off after my Carsington nightmare. I am planning a short run today if my ankle is okay, and it will be in a new place, along the Cromford canal which will be exciting. However, I am still sulking generally because of the events I will have to defer due to my upcoming op :D .

But I have been using MFP and I have lost 6lbs in 2 weeks, so that is a positive. Hooray!

Millsie-J profile image
Millsie-J in reply to Anniemurph

Lovely weather round here today so hope its similar for your canal run Annie!

A week off was just what was required I would say. Brilliant weight loss too, well done!

Get the op issue sorted and then go for it with those deferred events......they will still be there waiting for you, and you will be ready for them!

Happy running Annie!

I am still on track with my Zombie plan to knock 1 minute off my 10k time at the start of the year. In fact on Sunday i knocked just over 2 minutes off! Only 1 more week to go. I might treat myself to a relaxed s...l...o...w 10k to finish rather than going hell for leather.
