Well I'm back......and๐Ÿ˜Ž..

Just back from my final run of Ju Ju's up to 10k plan and...* I DID IT...ME! ! ! * I ran for the whole 10k.

Thanks to SaskAlliecat and Langley-Loper and Sandyscroll who have all shown me the way this weekend. I decided to take a leaf out of your books and have a small breakfast before I ran. I didn't for the 9k run and got quite tired. Not marmite though..some porridge and a bit of water.

Kit on and out I started my warm up walk. The football pitch was in use, so I had to walk around the edge and into the muddy woods. Out the other side and into the lane, started mapmyrun and off I go...

It didn't feel quick but wasn't my usual slow start, and I'd soon done the first K and felt fine. It was a lovely sunny morning by the time I set out so I could get away with wearing my sunglass, as I do get watery eyes and they help. I tried to run 'in the moment', rather than wishing myself further along all the time, and I thought about Oldfloss out for a run maybe if she was well enough, and Irish John who is sitting out on the ic, and of Tim and Petrina and what they are facing at the moment. I thought of MummyCav going to her friends funeral tomorrow and helping to take care of those two little boys...

Lost in thought then, but also pushing on knowing that I have worked towards this 10k and willing myself to succeed. I thought of SaskAlliecat running in the extreme cold, and Sandyscroll with her hills and Langley-Loper running around her village and wanted to join them and graduate.

I turned at 5.5k at the church as intended and always find the return journey more relaxing. It was lovely looking at the autumn colours of the trees and the blue sky. Not many acorn shells littering the pavement to crunch on now. I felt strong now and knew I would be able to finish. No speed walkers pulling out in front of me, just a dear little old lady, who stood still while I ran up to her and past her. She smiled and I thanked her. I ran past the place where I felt my calf strain a bit on the 9k run, and all was good, on the way back it feels like I'm counting down the distance instead of up.

9k done I thought of Oldfloss, did she feel up to this distance today? I hope you feel better soon and carry on with your 10k recovery back from the ic Quest.๐Ÿ˜Š

The last km I started to feel good, I was going to do this..me..at last.. and I thought I would run an extra bit to make sure the distance was all there, but only managed a few extra paces after the lady said TOTAL DISTANCE 10 KILOMETERS..total time 1hour 26 minutes split time 8.32....Yeah ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„

Happy running everybody ๐Ÿ˜Šxx

Well done, brilliant, hoorah! You made it - and not in an exhausted, gasping, just making it way, but in a cool, planned way. You did everything right, built up your distance slowly and now you've cracked it. You made it sound easy.

A huge well done! The first of many๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ‘

Oh thank you Pops, ha, its been nearly two years since you gave me the link to B210k Sammi Murphy style... ๐Ÿ˜ŠI did try that method, but found the long run/walk sessions very tiring at that time. It was once I got that 5k non-stop really comfy that the longer runs started to be a possibility. I realised that I could now tackle ju ju's up to 10k plan. I have enjoyed doing it, and thought of you as I was 'tapering' this week building up to the biggie.๐Ÿ˜Ž

Thank you for your kind comments and support ๐Ÿ˜Šxx

Yay JNR!!! I knew you could do it! Ju ju's plan rocks!

Your run sounds wonderful - peaceful and very introspective. These longer runs are so great for allowing you to get lost in your thoughts. I'm glad so many of us were able to join you on your run today.

We need to scooch over a little bit, Sandyscroll and Langley-Loper , and make some room on the podium for Bluebirdrunner ! ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰ It's a podium party! Whoohoo!

Knowing you had all done the run already was so helpful to me...it filled me with possibility and gave me a positive approach to it. Crickey..what with your snow and freezing conditions and Sandys hills I had no excuse but to knuckle down ๐Ÿ˜†...

You're right...that plan rocks. I'm definitely a much stronger runner now, building up was fun and each week you get a buzz from your longer run. I recovered immediately I stopped running too...

Being part of this forum with the support and advice and encouragement is priceless...๐Ÿ˜Šxx

There'll always be room for you ๐Ÿ˜Š.

The longer runs really are quite addicting, aren't they.

I agree that this forum is priceless. Even though I'm halfway around the world, I'm never running alone. I'm not one to be on social media (I'm one of what feels like a small group of people not on Facebook), but this running forum is different. The benefits to help push and pull you forward and keep the running motivation going is so contagious. I'm not sure if my motivation would've continued so strong without it and the lovely friends made here. You've played a huge role for me, so thank you so much ๐Ÿ˜Š

Absolutely fantastic! Well done you! I have decided to put increasing my distance on hold till spring & just continue to try & run 2-3 times, 30 mins, a week... I don't grey, drizzly weather, so just maintaining in itself will be a great accomplishment for me :-)

Thanks SuzyKk๐Ÿ˜Š... I can't really believe I've done it.. but I did.

Great idea, the more running you do, the better you get. More stamina and strength and even a bit quicker. When you run regularly you are never 'standing still' you are always improving and growing.๐Ÿ˜Šxxx

I've been waiting all weekend for this post! I'm so pleased for you. Definitely room for one more on that podium. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sounds like such a good run. I always try to run 'in the moment' too. If I mentally split the run into little chunks, I don't scare myself with the whole lot in one go.๐Ÿ˜

Getting there with it. The longer runs tend to start up the hill as there is more choice of routes so itโ€™s a bit hard to start with but I get the benefit of downhill return. Parents evening this week may scupper my evening run though.

Well done on the 10k!! A very relaxed run which you accomplished with ease. Sounds like you will be getting comfy with this distance very soon. What a fabulous run ๐Ÿƒ

You have done this wonderfully and have been so supportive to the others in the quest too! Keeping us on track ( telling me where and what I should be doing...and when, as I am so disorganised!)

Thank you Floss ๐Ÿ˜Šx

You came with me on that 10k run, in places I did try to run lightly, honestly๐Ÿ˜†...

I really didn't have the urge or ambition to run for an hour or more at a time up until this year, and have been consolidating for so long... However reading your brilliant, descriptive run reports and feeling your joy I decided to try to take my running up a notch.

I have enjoyed this Quest very much and being able to share the ups and downs has been so helpful to me.

I plan now to try and include my hilly route into my run as I do enjoy a circular run and carry on with the three different length runs per week. ( the long one probably a 7k๐Ÿ˜†)

Im tempted by Ju ju's new 10k plan and might dip into that next year๐Ÿ˜Šxxx

Will be watching for your posts as you are on the final Week of the up to 10k plan..Go Floss ๐Ÿ˜Šxxx
