Broken watch leads to a nice surprise...

My watch is broken, so I went out this morning without it. "I'll just run easy," I thought, "and stop when I think I've done about 5k or when I get tired." (Mind you, I've never run further than 5.2k.)

So, when Strava told me I'd just run 6.5k, you could've pushed me over with a feather!

I shall be grinning for hours! :D

Wow! That is impressive! Its amazing what you can do when you are not aware isn't it?

HeHe! Thanks Decker - I might just incorporate a 'watchless' run every so often just to see what happens. :)

Brilliant! And great excuse to buy new watch ⌚️ and maybe some extra gear 👟👚🏃‍♀️now that you are at it.

Ooh stop, PippiRuns ! You're tempting me into a shopping frenzy! But now that you mention it, I did use my old watch for a travel alarm, a cooking timer, etc, so I'll definitely have to replace it.

And, of course, now that the weather's turning, maybe some new heavy-weight leggings...and a neck warmer...and maybe some new socks...

Absolutely! All of the above are bare necessities! You cant run without them. Perhaps a beanie? a west? a long sleeve tech shirt to use as a base layer? new jacket? gloves?... and what about reflective gear? And a headlamp...

Brilliant.

I got an Aldi GPS watch and chest strap (never used it) on eBay for £6, and it is better that the Garmin 10 I had previously and had to sell as it took too long (sometimes not at all) to fix GPS.

Have a look there.

Thanks, Cliff_H , a little sore the next day, if I'm honest, but pleased (and amazed) to discover I could do it! :)
