Drag me off the sofa.

Sooo. Complered c25k about a year ago. Ran a 10k in Belfast Marathon and saw a group of 12 through the c25k as part of a well-being project in work.

Problem. I've got lazy and I doubt I could run 10k right now. Can I have some motivation please?

Sign up for a race? I've been better about running this past week than I have for months before that, and I haven't even signed up for my race yet!

One day, there will come a time when you really can't run a 10k, and then you will regret not having taken every opportunity to do so when you could.

I love this. Motivation for sure. I did run 1 week 1 of the b210k. Tough.

Run because you can.

These were words often repeated by the first person to reply to my first ever post on the C25K forum, the estimable and inspirational Oldgirl. When I last checked her out she had reluctantly given up running and was signing up to an HU arthritis group.

Run because you can.......

Recommend entering a race to give you something to aim for. I had a 5 month gap after completing Couch to 5K, then went right back to the beginning in January. Was worried it would all peter out - so ended up with a place on a half marathon. That's definitely got me off the sofa and out running. Due to do a 10K on Sunday as part of the training, so it's already got me further than I would have done otherwise, even if I can't manage the half marathon in the end.

You know you have already made the first step by coming back on here, go across to the C25k and read some of those inspirational stories, that's bound to get you going again. Maybe find another group to take through from work, or see how that group you took is doing, if they are doing better than you that would be my main motivation 😀.
