For Sunday's London Winter Run, you are allocated a start time based on the estimated time you gave to complete. I'm not fast, and my 10ks vary from 1hr 12 at my very best to around 1hr 23. Given that there are going to be around 16,000 other people there, I probably said my time would be about 1hr 25 mins. It could well take me even longer as I am recovering from a heavy cold and I hate running in crowds.

My allocated start time is 10:18am.

Imagine my amusement when one of our lovely Beyonders posted elsewhere that his start time is 9:30am and he expects to be finishing by about 10:15am :D :D :D

Aforementioned "one of" must be very fast. You just enjoy the sights and soak up the London atmosphere :)

I am a "black catter" - any black cat that you have seen, I have seen blacker!!! For my one and only run in the "famous" Sydney City to Surf in 2014, there were 20,000 in my corral - and there were 4 corrals :)

Anniemurph profile image

Erm... no thanks! Although the City to Surf run does sound very tempting, but so many people? Terrifying!

I would stick as close to your own pen as you can I got in the wrong one last year and I literally have never run so fast in my entire life. It is still my fastest km to date. I tucked myself in as soon as I could and settled down after the 1st km. the people at the back of me must of seen a rare sight because what I didn't know is when I run that fast my Capri pants start to fall down so there I was running holding the back of my capris up to keep my dignity. I will have choccie cake for you. Are you meeting up before hand? I'm so where.?

Ha ha! Well, there's something to be said for pushing yourself :D I am considering inventing some sort of braces to run in because I have had this problem with descending leggings as well!

I think some people are meeting at the Caffe Nero in Trafalgar Square at 8:30, but not everyone will be there. I have yet to work out where my hotel is in relation to the start! Looking forward to meeting you :)

Ha ha Annie ! Ah this reminds me of when I met up with Runon from here for the GMR 2 years ago and he texted me whilst I was still running to say he was in one of the tents having his legs massaged and I still had a fair way to go ! I was like " Ah yes, just on my way over ! Arrgh , keep going Pug, keep going !!! " :-D

Have fun , enjoy the cake and please don't forget to take some pics ! :-) xxx

Well, I won't say that I've checked out all the Tube shortcuts, but... :D I'll stay honest, I promise!

Yep, "Sorry, Runon, I can't quite see the actual tent you're in at the moment, there are quite a few... aren't there?" Tee hee! I'll post about my dream as well - that'll give you a giggle.

Ta, Pops, I'll deffo take pics of the cake xxx
