New Half PB this morning. :)

Shaved 5 minutes off last sunday's half marathon distance.2hrs 27 minutes down to 2 hrs 22 minutes :)

I know it's still quite slow.  As I've always said though, the only person I'm competing with is myself.

Hoping to run 22km every Sunday for the next twelve months.  If it gradually gets easier, then next May I will try to gradually increase the distance to marathon :)

Crikey I must have been tired when I got back and wrote that.  I left the 2hrs out before 27mins and 22mins at least you could see it in the screen shot attached. And being runners, you will have known that I didn't do a half marathon in 22 minutes ;)

I re read my message after having a much needed siesta  :D

Yep - I'd spotted the 2 hours prefix ☺

Well done. I'm slowly increasing distance to get the same distance. I really prefer the longer runs.

Well done - I'll be very happy if I can do  my HM in that time.

Thanks Anniemurph.  After ankle injury last summer I've taken it slow and steady.  Just adding a little bit of distance each month (say 8mins running to whatever distance I'd reached the previous month, look for a landmark, and run to that for the rest of the month).

I don't make any attempt to increase speed for my long runs, I find that if you keep running the same distance week after week, then the speed gradually increases by itself. I'm looking forward to seeing how the 22km feels each week as I repeat that distance. I imagine that it will get easier and easier.  I really like the long loping runs, as I put less pressure on myself to run quickly, and so I take in the scenery more :)

Wow! Fab stuff Zev. Five minutes is a great reduction in a week! Who cares about the speed (and I think that's a great time btw) when you can run for 2hours 22 minutes!
