Joining a club will get me into the local area runs with other local like minded people.

It's only been running for a matter of weeks, a free organised club, and has an internet website forum with about 80 members.

It caters for new runners as well as the experienced, so should be good for me. Only thing is that at the moment it only runs on Sunday morning and I would be doing Parkrun on the previous day, so no restday. I don't think it'll bother me too much to do another 5k the next day, I'll take it easy and see how it goes. I would think more stretching would be in order. So will give it a go this coming Sunday..

I think you'll enjoy it! Others runners pull you along by invisible string.

Let me know how you go Dave, I have always worried about two consecutive running days without a rest day in between and plan my life so as to make sure my legs are fit and rested. So it will be interesting to see how you go.

It will be a test for me running 2 consecutive days, I'm doing a flatter Parkrun on Sat.Then will start off nice & slow on Sunday, captain slow anyway! lol

Enjoy your club. I've found that running with a club has expanded my horizons and got me attempting to do all sorts of things that I used to think that I was too old for.

I sometimes break the sacred rule and run on two consecutive days. You can't always control exactly when you are going to run and when you are not, particularly if you run with a group. However, I do try and take a couple of days off after (rather than just one) - either that or I make sure that at least one of my days is an easy run.

What I don't do is run one day and race the 2nd. If I have an event I race the 1st day and then take an easier run (or at least do something different) on the following one. This means that, if I have a Sunday race, I'll not do parkrun the day before.

Hi Adam thanks for the good comment.

I plan on having a good go at Parkrun on Saturday, then take it easy on the new club run on Sunday. Being a first timer I don't know exactly where I'm going, so the organisers stay with us newbies (although I'm older than most of the others) I presume.

I'm only doing a 5k loop which will be enough for me then they'll peel off and do another10k with the experienced

runners..hopefully I'll be able to do more in the future, but in no hurry, I don't want to bust anything...
