It keeps my sanity in check when the world is throwing crazy stuff at me πŸ˜€. Over the years I don’t know where I would be now if I hadn’t had running to ground me.

I started for the physical health/fitness benefits, I stayed for the mental health benefits 😊

I'm a new runner and I keep going just now because I feel a sense of satisfaction and control from achieving my runs.

I run in the morning and I find it sets me up for the day and helps me be more focussed on what I need to achieve thst day.

I love it when I run and my body is getting stronger each time and I think about how it has improved me as a person.

Running is one of my he best things I have ever done. I feel fitter both mentally and physically. It hasn’t changed my life but it helps me deal with things better and see things with more perspective! Running is just my time to process my life and I love it!

I love that it's an hour of only having to worry about putting one foot in front of the other, everything else is forgotten

All of the above! (well, maybe not the writing an painting if I'm being totally honest Oldfloss - even running can't be powerful enough to transform me into a writer or a painter ... can it :D ?)

The best things in my life have come when I joined a community of like-minded people.

For me personally the running thing has changed my physiology and cured a load of medical issues. But that pales into insignificance when I think about all of us doing this together, and in support of each other.

What else can you do on your own at your own pace and in your own time, and yet feel part of this?

Running has done wonders for my mental health and stress management. I am happy, easier to be around person when I can run consistently and my family can sure tell if I haven't been able to run πŸ˜ πŸ˜‘πŸ‘ΏπŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈβ˜ΊοΈπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜„

I love that it’s improved my fitness and I’m hoping to persuade my doc to reduce or stop my hypertension tablets. But I also love the high I get afterwards and the fact that I can take part in Parkrun every Saturday. Thanks, c25k, I couldn’t have done it without you .

I voted for the keeping me fit choice, but also the first and fourth apply too. The motto of the runners group that I belong to is β€œWe run for fun, fitness and friendship” and that suits me well!

I voted for fitness but I can't help chasing PBs too, although I'm not that keen on public races yet.

PS PBs autocorrects to pubs!

Today's run was when I stopped! Not a great run, even if I got a new pb...

I voted other. I love running for two main reasons. The solitude, and it makes me feel alive.

Always wanted to run, did not know about the toxic ten, until I found this magic forum.

The motivational magic here and the golden thread of running that binds runners and forum is truly unique.

I run for fun. That’s my favourite, but it always make my day feel better, both physically and mentally too! If I’m feeling off, and don’t want to run, I always know that the run will actually be the reset button I need. And off I go! Doesn’t have to be long, doesn’t have to be great....just a run and I’m back in the room with a smile! 😁❀️
