i m suffering from pain in my left breast
Hi, prabhnaaj19, I have the following to say:
Pain in the breast, by far, is almost never associated with breast cancers. The most common symptom of a breast cancer is a hard 'lump' or a 'knot' in the breast, which is usually painless.
In women who are breast feeding, pain and also fever, may indicate an underlying infection and pus which may need to be drained.
In women who are not breast feeding, such a pain is quite common, and may occur a few days or even a week before the periods and can be due to various causes, maybe a swelling, or an infection or hormonal imbalance etc. etc.
What I can suggest:
First of all, please do not panic. It does not seem to be cancer at all. Since the pain has been there for only 7 or 8 days, take pain killers if it becomes too much; wait for a week or so, or at least till next period and see if it settles. Wear a good, well supporting brassiere. Movement aggravates pain.
I have following questions:
Which age group are you in, less than 35 years or more than 35 years old?
Is your pain related to your periods?
Do you have fever?
Also, I must state that, this is only a support forum, our endeavour is to solve people's doubts about breast diseases and provide guidance; all the questions you may ask, usually need an examination. So we are not in the best situation to make any medical advices and nor is it correct. If you feel your problem persists, please do consult your doctor (preferably a consultant who is well versed in breast diseases). If you don't know whom to meet, please let us know and we will guide you.
i m 29 years old
when i press them i feel pain in left side only. its from near about ten days.
dear prabhnaaj 19,first of all do not panic, generally breast cancer is associated with either a lump which is painless or a discharge from the nipples, any way the best step would be to consult a specialist . do not worry, take care.
