My father had whipple's last year in July. He has completed GemCap Chemotherapy in January, 2019. He has a gastrocutanous fistula and a small amount of discharge <80 ml per day. His whole body was swollen and both the lungs had pleural effusion and his scrotum was full of water as well after finishing chemotherapy. Doctors said he had a very low level of protein. So he was in intensive care of the doctors and was hospitalised for 1 month. Then he recovered his swollen body and the pleural effusion reduced and scrotum became well. But recent ultrasonogram showed 2 SOL in liver. His CA 19.9 is below 40 and CEA is below 4. Radiologist suggested those SOL may be caused by liver abcesses. Anyone have any knowledge about this??? Are SOLs in liver a big threat??? Please help....What to do now?

I am sorry to hear what your father has passed through. Indeed an extremely difficult period both, for him as well as family.
As for your query, I am so sorry we can’t help you much here. We don’t have liver specialists here on this forum. Your doctor will decide the next step. Such SOLs can very well be because of some infections. If your doctor has a doubt of SOL being cancerous, he may advise a USG guided biopsy from the SOL. If you wish, you can take a second opinion from another Oncologist in your area.
