HC1/HC2 certificate..

Hope all is well with everyone 😎 Has anyone applied for a HC1/HC2 certificate to help travel costs?

Yes, I work part time due to my health issues, where I used to work i was eligible for tax credits, which covered travel costs, prescriptions etc, but when I changed jobs nearly three years ago that stopped so I now apply yearly for a HC2 certificate to cover my medical expenses, forms are available from Drs, Dentists and opticians

anyone with cancer is able to get an exemption card for prescriptions, just go to your doctor and he will complete the form.

I get free prescriptions as i have lymphoedema now and still on letrozole, mine is just about to expire so I taking from to my GP this week.

I did claim travel when I had to travel for chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I applied for this then had to go to expenses office at hospital to get refund. Good luck

Thank you ladies for your reply. I have the medication exemption card for prescriptions. I think I will apply for HC1/HC2 certificate as its over £9 a day for a return travel ticket on public transport. I will also pop into the Macmillan office to see if I can claim at the expense office.
