Hi there,

Four months is still early days so far as still feeling the effects of your treatment. Is it joint pain? I still click and have the odd random ache or twinge nearly 4 years on from chemo and 3.5 years from radiotherapy.

If you are concerned you could ring your breast care nurse just to see if anything can be recommended to ease the pain.

I find gentle exercise helps relieve pains and stiffness, even just doing some daily stretches helps.

Best wishes xx

Are you taking an aromatase inhibitor or tamoxifen? If so, you may be experiencing side effects.

I was off them for 5 months and still had the side effects. On a Facebook group someone said it took a year off them before she saw improvements. Others see improvement within 2 weeks. Everyone is different.

I started letrizile again since it seemed the most tolerable but am considering tamoxifen. I also take Cymbalta, gabapentin and Tylenol to help with the pains and stiffness. It helps but still have pain just a bit less most days.

It is so frustrating as I too was very active before and it’s a struggle to force myself to walk or swim or workout.

Thank you for your reply the only one I haven't tried is tamoxifen and frightened to death to start the whole circle again .Its 3 weeks since I stopped Exemestane so I think I am going to wait till next week when I have follow up appointment with my oncologist Its a real pain this isn't it I thought once chemo and radiotherapy was over I would be fine

If it is joint pain it is likely the hormone therapy. I was told regular exercise that makes me out of breath would help although I can see how challenging this might be if you are in a lot of pain.

If the pain is in your muscles do ask the onc about neuropathy . I know people who suffer badly with this who I’m afraid to say have found little relief, yet for others it passes with time.
