Preparing my ❤️ for breast MRI false positives

I am in the middle of my first screening after treatment. Had a mammogram a few weeks ago and was called back for a breast MRI because they couldn’t see much in the mammogram (I am only 31).

Now, they warned me that breast MRI with contrast shows A LOT more...which means more false positives.

The test is today, wish me luck and a strong ❤️ for those false positives 😬.

I wish you the best of luck today! I remember the 2 week wait I had for the unfortunate positive result. But you are so young, it must be the best news of negatives.

I pray you have a peaceful day after you get good news!

Don’t worry! I am surprised you were ‘warned’ about the false positives with this type of scan. My first mammogram wasn’t clear so I was given an appt for mri with contrast and it showed up areas which led to biopsy and my cancer diagnosis which was good to receive as had my mammogram results been used and I was miss diagnosed as cancer free I probably wouldn’t be here today.

The mri is a good thing even if it does lead to a biopsy - which could be of a benign nature.

That will give you a definitive answer and that is what is important here.

Do try not to worry it’s all part of the excellent care we are given.

Wishing you all the best x

I’m surprised they mentioned false positives!! They’ve never said that to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve had bc 3x and mammo never picked up any of it! Hence why I have the mri and now refuse mammos.

That said I had an mri they saw something in my reconstruction, told me it was scar tissue and it continued to grow so I got it scanned and biopsied a year later to be told It was cancer. Sadly there is no perfect solution. As much as I hate biopsies, if there is something to look at this is a good way to more clearly rule it out or in.

I’d prefer to rely on MRI any day. Good luck! It will most likely clearly reveal nothing. 🤞for u xx
