Breast Lump

I am in my 30's I was seen by a Consultant in 2015 for Fast track for a lump in breast .The examination was unremarkable apart from the area in left upper quadrant of focal tenderness and increased nodularity. The consultant also added the he was pleased to say that an ultrsound scan of this area has shown a parenchymal prominence with Associated small benign cysts.I therefore have dischaged her back to your care(GP).Leaflet

information on breast pain and advising on a trail of Evening Primrose oil.

It feels stone like and is painful at time especially when i have my period ,it also interferes with my partner in our sex life

but he is very understanding .I recently asked a GP in the USA who was suprised i did not have a Biopsy ,he was sure i should have a Ultrsound with biopsy as it was hard in texture and should get biopsy urgently.

This has confused me who to believe is correct as it did seem clear

diagnosis from the consultati in 2015.

I would appreciate anyones advice to

this second opinion from a GPs idea as i have very dense breasts.

Thanks.

I have no medical knowledge..apart from I am hopefully in recovery from breast cancer. My advice would be to get a second opinion..if only for your own peace of mind.

I too would be inclined to seek a second opinion. Living with the uncertainty you feel ( and I would too) is not good for your general health. One would hope that if things have not changed in 3 years this is not a condition requiring treatment but nothing can replace peace of mind and we have a responsibility to ourselves to push for the help we need.

Thanks Bagrat for your kind help

i will follow your advice like all the friendly groups replies on the forum

thanks for the support

Definitely get a second opinion. I don’t want to alarm you but I was told I had a cyst that was later dx as cancer. I had a needle biopsy done to get confirmation. I am fine (and grateful) after all the treatments. As I say, I don’t want to frighten you but if you are not happy don’t get fobbed off.

I too had very dense breasts. I had no lump that I could feel, or puckering, but was called to a routine (first) mammogram. I had a biopsy done and a scan, and was then diagnosed with what they thought was a 2.5cm lump. ER+ in left breast. I had a lumpectomy, and they then discovered I had 3 growths, 2.5, 2 and 2cm large, almost joining. So I then had to have radiotherapy and a mastectomy and reconstruction.

I would definitely go for a biopsy. It isn't pleasant, but you need to find out what is going on in there.

Wish you all the best,

Rachel

Please go for a second opinion. I would say, to save you worrying maybe unnecessarily it's best to find out. I am in recovery at present and will keep my fingers crossed for you. Take care, xx
