Awww so pleased your pleased with it. 😊😊 Im finally getting a new nipple in December -it will be nearly four years for me too. The reconstruction theyve done is amazing, its a long haul but worth it. 😊😊

Hi! Here is the info:

The nipple is rebuilt using a local flap, a surgical procedure in which the skin of the reconstructed breast is folded to create a nipple mount. Another option is a nipple graft, which involves taking half the nipple from the healthy, remaining breast and putting it on the reconstructed breast. The areola is reconstructed with a skin graft (from your inner thigh, abdomen or other locations), a tattoo, or both.

*My PS used a local flap and in 2 months I’ll have the areola tattooed. I live in Chicago so if you want my plastic surgeon info let me know. He is an amazing PS 😃

Congratulations! I have mine done 3 weeks ago and I love it. I had a right mastectomy and I left nipple sparing mastectomy so it looks smaller than the other one but at least I have my two nipples! In two months I’m going to have the areola tattooed! However, my PS made the flap 30% to 40% larger than the desired final size, and still looks smaller than the other one. My PS had warned me of what might happen, it’s ok with me. I’ll have a 3D areola tattoo and I’m pretty sure it will look similar to the other one. Happy with the results!

Good luck!
