Anybody had to have a second biopsy taken ?

Hi everyone. I’ve been back to breast clinic today for rescan and seen the superior surgeon and the antibiotics haven’t cleared what they thought it was periductal mastitis. Now they are not sure so have had to have second biopsy taken as she said it’s a vague area she wants to draw a line under it . She said it could be fatty tissue or it could be a fybroadenoma. She said she is not sure at this point . I’m in tears here. It’s my few days of from work and I’m back in bed now sore from biopsy number 2. I’m still bruised from the last one .really had enough I just feel like nobody knows anything I’ve had to take really strong antibiotics for the past week which have made me ill and nothing was resolved. They don’t even know now if I had periductal mastitis can anyone advise ? Has any of u had to have 2 biopsy’s ?

My heart goes out to you, this is being prolonged a little bit....but it's all for your peace of mind..Yes 2 biopsies is not pleasant 1 is bad enough but like your surgeon said she wants to put a line under this so you can move on...one way or another, Cry all you want hun, I'm sure your second biopsy will be fine just like the first, it's just the waiting game again, I know it's hard saying don't worry but it's a natural process our brain goes through ...Thinking of you xx

I’m worried sick it was bad enough having 1 and now having to have the second one is awful I dnt know what to think anymore . I’m so down with it all x

I haven't myself but while going through my process, I've talked to friends who have had 3 biopsies and no cancer found. They had to go through with it to be certain. Like others have said, it's better to be thorough!

It’s horrendous to have to go through it all over again I’m in bits here I feel ill

It is very difficult for you but hang in there. I had 3 biopsies and while not being pleasant I thankfully had no soreness afterwards but I guess all radioligists are different. As for the waiting it gets easier after a while. Try not to dwell on the what if's and try to take your mind off it. Hopefully this one will come back clear too and you will be able to get back to normal x
